I hear from a very good source that Stopout have approached Pedro from Lower Hutt. Maybe looking for someone that can put the ball in the back of the net.

Just had Wai United get together over a few beers and a bar b.  All players back for the coming season including Cowan.  Also nabbed George B form Olympic.  He must of been impressed with the facilities at the last game against Wai U!!  New home of Wairarapa United Central League Football.  Confirmed.

geoff romijin - centre back.

tawa will keep core from last year one would imagine, minus the likes of withers and a few others that have moved on in the circle of life. Expect a few sigings of nobodys and a few returning players - survival would seem a resonable goal (or beating wests 5-0)

tbh, It'll be interesting to see how Tawa cope without Withers, he is a very effective player not to mention a geriatric goal scoring freak lol

Tawa potentially the new United?

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

couldn't agree more as seen in the past nil all draws get you nowhere - finding striker could be key
all will be revealed when pre season starts

Nothing has happened.  But obviously the Masterton Council aren't doing stuff all to promote Football in the region.  Heaps of s**t talked but no results.  Sports Bowl being turned into running track and conflicts with cricket.  Oval conflicts with cricket.  It's takes a small club with a big heart  to promote  it.  Ok there is going to be kickbacks for the Masterton Club.  Only Club in Wairarapa that privately owns its own ground and maintains it.  As a club, we would like to see the best level of football played at the best ground in the Wairarapa. A lot of hard work by Volunteers to secure this for the region.

Huleena is a good ground, but Wairarapa has had  more home grounds than  the number of jugs drank at the Kuripuni on a Saturday afternoon. A bit of stability could be a good thing, but I will give you the tip , don't have a couple of jugs at the Puni and go up in the grandstand at Huleena, you will get that sideways feeling.

If you can get away with only having 4 jugs at the tav on a saturday arvo, u are doing alright.  Home grounds have been Howard Booth (Carterton), Queen Elizabeth Park Oval (Masterton), Colin Pugh Sports Bowl (Masterton) and now Hullena Park.  Good to get back to where Wairarapa United started.  'HELL-ENA' can be a bit of a cruel ground to be at if you are the opposition/officials. Had some good results there at end of last year and some good crowds.

the Tav. home of the $3 absinth shot.

will Wai Utd still be playing home games on a Sunday?

Hullena Park is placed between a College nearly closed, a cementry and a dump. All very appropriate as the ground is a hopeless dying dump. Bring back Wellington United.

My favourite part of Hullena Park is the gas-chamber style doors on the changing rooms. Cast iron affairs that could probably survive Armageddon.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

is hullena pk the one on the road out to the coast just outside masterton? was excellent the one time we played there - long time ago though.

out next to Makoura College. actually quite a nice ground. holds up pretty well because usually only has two games max on it a weekend. much nicer ground than most that I have played on in Welly, especially in the depths of winter.

Yeah good one whatsupdoc.  1st posting ever and you have that to say!!!  You obviously know nothing.  Hullena Park is located beside a college - correct.  Nearly closed - i think not as role count increased by 30% from last year.  Dump is a good 1km away - take note Happy Valley!!! and the Cementry is about the same distance away.  Try Google Maps . Dick!

Steelo - As far as im aware most of the 1st team games are on saturdays.  If they were on sundays and you still played for the 2nds, you could definately be the reserve CL keeper.

As a keeper I'm always interested to see who is where.
So far I know:
Petone - Jimbo until WC then prob Rippon
Miramar - Imray
Wests - Granville maybe
LH - Unknown
Wairarapa - Probably Buffon or Dida
Olympic - NVH unless 2 seasons at one club is too many

Its no longer a problem.
