my experiences ove the years is there are always a number of tawa supporters that are pretty rugged.  One eyed and offensive is a fair summation on some days as well...   but look where they play, you have to be comiited to your team/clu to turn up and watch football at redwood..   the bar afterwards is allways pumping though..

Are they any games/grounds where there aren't any one-eyed and offensive supporters?

Mirimar, Wellington United, Stop Out, Petone, IBay, Wests, Varsity, Wainui.....  You never see or hear much at these clubs...
I am sure we will find someone who had some problems with the above, but apart from the odd oinstance you never hear anyone complaining about the above clubs....

I remember copping a lot of abuse at wainui a few years back.... however I must say that when we played them last year, even though they were in relegation trouble at the end of the season, they had the best and most supportive crowd. Imagine they are enjoying this year a bit more.

And just to clarify, I wasn't trying to endorse abuse from spectators at all (especially seeing as I wasnt at the game involved). Just that sometimes all it takes is one or two people to make a whole club look bad.

Those were the ones..... however they weren't as apparent last year... there were, on the other hand, a lot of young kids with Wainui banners cheering non-stop...which I thought was impressive

Back to being on topic...no-one picked Marist to beat UH I saw

Tawa Players and supporters give yourself a upper cut. Standing on the sideline abusing players left right and centre totally one eyed and up themselves and as for your players no wonder you will never win anything when you all act like you do.Although you are the best social team in wellington so congrates on that.

haha are you serious??
what about your behaviour after the game? throwing your shin pads round like a 5 year old losing his lollipop! the supporters were doing nothing out of charaterstic to any other football ground in wellington - they didnt stand there absuing the ref for 5 minutes aftera disallowed goal - they didnt walk up to the ref after the game and tell him how much of a wanka he is

you should take a deep long look at yourself.

 bob you make me laugh

the only person from tawa that prob needed an uppercut was mike remaekers... he came on and prob should have been sent off... that man needs to settle himself right down.

OMG

What on earth is going on at LHCAFC?

Thrashed 4-0 by Wests on Sunday and now in grave danger deep in the relegation zone!
Something smells pretty bad down Lower Hutt way at the moment.

I watched this team perform superbly in Prem Division last season, finishing in 4th place.
I do understand that they dont have the magnificent Matt Carnihan this season but I am at a loss to know what has gone wrong this season.

2-2 at Wakefield.

Rapa led with not long to go before a couple of goals from IBU tied up.  Did hear talk of some 'interesting' penalty calls.

Rapa really should have buried the game when they were two up. couple of good saves from DKP and a couple of misses by Rapa left IB in the game. I didnt really see either of the pens, the first was for handball i think, but got the feeling the second one might have been marginal and neither were blatant.

To clarify Island Bay's penalties. The first was hand ball, and the second was for chopping one of Island Bay's players. (Click the link below for the videos)

A hand ball penalty is always up for ref's interpretation and as a player I always cringe whenever we're awarded one for it, unless it's a totally blatant (Goalie style) goal saving catch, which I can almost always have to laugh about :)

However, in saying that, the link below also shows another Wairarapa tackle which was a pen, but was given as a freekick instead. It probably wasn't given because Island Bay had just scored off another penalty, but the video shows just how tough 'rapa were finding it stopping Island Bay's attack at 2-1 up.

http://nz.youtube.com/user/ibuafc

If only Wairarapa's second goal was caught on tape, then Island Bay could provide you all with a visual of Soloman's 10 yard head start (A mile Offside!)

i didnt catch the pens so have to take your word on that.

I did see the free kick on the edge of the box. In fact, I was standing almost parallel at that point. It was very close as I recall, and possibly fractionally inside the box, but a very tight call. will check out the youtube. Classic. The fact there had been a pen a moment earlier probably didnt help IB, agree.

As for the second Rapa goal, I was behind DKP an bank so didnt have perfect view of it. But, IB back four were flat and if he was offisde it was not by a lot. Good pass by Rabo.

for the record I couldnt care less who won that game, thats just how I saw it.

watched YouTube clip - that ridiculous overhead kick by the Rapa chap was inside. Pen it should have been. Actually, I must have been standing almost on top of whoever took that video

I'm with you Marius. Island Bay didnt do themselves any favours by letting in a softy in the first half, and they'll be happy enough to save a few of what was otherwise giving Rapa 6 points.

Agreed, The ref would have be torn apart by the "honest" Wairarapa Times, if he had given three pens in 10 minutes, rather than two.

whose going to drop more players wests or lower hutt??

i guess wests have the comfort zone of not being in relegation trouble in central league.

Fixed.

Barry certainly has a special talent considering he's never worn a pair of gloves before.

Perhaps he'll make the switch once he's too old for his trademark shoulder tackle?

Tawa have been in this position before except now they are not a handfull of points behind Petone so familiar ground for them, Bush who knows who will turn up and that unpredictableness leads to shock losses, Kapiti are storming up the ladder but I think will fall a few points short...  I am picking IB, but only if they can stop the silly draws against the lower teams....

With Cap. premier being so close another interesting rd, Waterside v Wairarapa probably game of the rd, but all the teams need points some to keep up the title hopes and others to avoid those bottom 2 spots. I'm picking Tawa over LH, IB v Miramar draw (IB won't get 2 pens this week) Waterside to pip Wairarapa, kapiti beat UH 1st rd to start a good run of results, UH to halt their challenge and Wests and Marist point each.

my 2 cents

tawa v lower hutt - tawa 1-2
island bay v miramar - island bay 1-2
waterside - wairarapa - napa 3+
kapiti v upper hutt - upper hutt 1-2
wests v marist - wests 1st team will win 3+

still failing to see how you pick karori as game of the round - they havn't offered anything spectacular recently. i would pick island bay v miramar personally

Bob as I stated teams need points this weekend and I think this will be the best game, to me Watereside need to win to stay in the title race, I know they 've got games in hand but the others have points on the board, UH V KCU should be good too 5- 3 I think in the first rd. the team that loses this one, drops from having a outsiders chance of winning the title to the fight to avoid that second to bottom spot and the play off game..
