TSMA you got to be kidding. It was a nothing game for both teams. This is the real thing. Pity the Rapa will be thrashed. C'mon Napier.

Bigger game as in support. I dont see the numbers we had for the phoenix games (both of them) being at this game. Especially if its on a saturday

But in all fairness, i hope im wrong. Oh and good luck NCR. It would be nice to see you guys in the final, and beat you again for the 3rd time this year

Hoping it is a Sunday, will be worth the trip back over.

Love how it is being billed as the rural team vs the city slickers. This Wairarapa Utd team is barely rural.

Rural Fiji perhaps

Waitak on the other hand....based in a paddock out west amongst the vineyards. Rural.

Three for me, and two for them.

I'm not really in the know with teams outside the north island - are bay olympic favourites for the title? Or are one of the more southern teams up for it?

My call is either the winner of tech vs bay or Napier City to win the cup.

I would say Bay Olympic would be firm favourites to win the cup, however i think anyone could win it apart from Onehunga or Manurewa

looks like Bay Olympic have quite a team, has the Northern league been strong this year? its hard to gage how the Dunedin teams will go, we have a crap league down here, apart from Caversham & Tech, the other teams like Roslyn are rubbish really.

Onehunga, they any good?

I know a bit about the northern league as I live here. And would say that Olympic would be very hard to beat.

picking onehunga at home to beat cavvy

Boy, how bad are cavvy? Melville keep losing to Onehunga, but when I saw Ham Wanderers play them they looked very average- no players of note, couple of small quick guys, thats it really. Plus Prince Quansah

the only thing going for Onehunga is that the game is on their own ground

I wouldn't take this forum as a reliable source of information in regards to that.

Cavy are a quality side, I just think home advantage may sneak it for onehunga. Could well be wrong!

Maybe because they havent got a good enough ground to play the game. Heard the Sportsbowl is a bog and they've lost the Oval.

I'm surprised TSMA hasn't already issued a statement on behalf of Phil.

If they do it won't be the first chatham cup game played on artificial - last year wellington united v olympic was played on te whaea in newtown, simply because of the massive amount of rain meant the local grounds were in horrific shape. It allowed for both teams to play good football that a muddy pitch wouldn't. It might not have been the first, just saying it has happened. All for it.

Is there an artificial in the rapa?

Fuck this stupid game

Only a few hockey turfs.

Wonder what the chances are of it being moved to Hullena Park.

I guess the artificial thing is a yarn then, no way they'd give up their "bush" home advantage.

Fuck this stupid game

if they played in Wgtn at an artifical i'd get out and support them, and I'd campaign hard for other Wgtn clubs to support them as the last 'local' representative.

I'd be there too, no doubt (of course only if i'm not playing at the same time) but I can't see them giving away their somewhat inconvenient home advantage. I also get the feeling that they are proud to be bringing the 'pinnacle of nz club football' to their people. It would be a great shame if some of the local supporters missed the game because it was taken away from them.

Fuck this stupid game

C'mon JTP1, everyone knows Phil is your Uncle Dad mate. If you hadnt moved to CHCH, you were 1st team goalie, and you know it. Hullena is the bet, but we will have to wait and see

I heard Hullena is out as Masterton would not make it available this weekend. Rapa have booked the turf in Wellington for trainings next week.
