Agree with the cavy result but not so sure about tech away in christchurch, they dont really have a plan B if their long balls dont work and they struggled in the last round only winning 2-1

Tech should have no problem, Utd don't have a plan A, B or C. Rely on a couple of key players and basically try to bully there way to wins. Utd are definitely the weakest of the ChCh teams remaining in the cup. Cavvy are more likely to have their hands full with Western who run hot and cold but on their day could be good for the win.

Are you guys of the thought that after this round the draw goes national? That's my impression however comments on another thread say one more round then national at the quarters.   I realise this same issue occurred last year, but interested.

Said that the past 2 years though 2B. Total number of cross-federation ties in Round Four: 0.

Three for me, and two for them.

Yes I saw that too 2B, someone on here said they had talked to both Mainland and Southern Football and they were told that next round is South Island only and it's not till the quarters it goes national.

My Hope: National draw at Round 4. Having the SI all together in Rd 3, then Rd 4 national, is a good thing IMHO.
My expectation: Regional til quaters.

and Western tipped over Woolston Tech on penalties. It was Tech's big ambition when they signed Braithwaite and started paying players to fo all the way in the Cup. looks like that's all over now.
Sorry for late reply but tech have never payed players, the lads who came their just wanted to win and after he got the job probably impress the Canterbury coach as instead of getting just two or three opportunities a year when playing tech. Yes moot point I know but just felt like pointing it out. Plus I've been away, good luck to the mainland sides, I don't think any of the team will make the next round but I'm sick of hearing how much better the dunedin sides are and would love for the Christchurch teams to stick it up em.

There is a bit of confusion in this thread I think. The original comment about Tech I think was aimed at Dunedin Tech, however it has morphed into Woolston Tech.

Kamo is no longer a Woolston Tech player, signed  (headhunted) by Ferrymead Bays (AKA Ferrymead Buys)

Pedro got two for Hutt off the bench, including a 45m chip.

United I think was Dicey, Alva, Tade, Joe Harris, and G Little

Christchurch United 0 Dunedin Technical 1 (Richard SMITH 109) (a.e.t)

Somehow United missed several open goals in normal time an in extra time as well, with Technical making the most of their limited chances.

limited chances....utd were lucky burgess wasn't there + our other stiker....was a good cup tie tho end to end, probably the worst game this season for tech, common Coastal Spirit!

Dunedin Tech were very lucky to sneak through today. Looks like Cavvy better stick 10 past Western to justify your rash assumption Horsesarse21

C'mon indeed.
Absolutely pissing down intermittently here in Richmond tonight. Boys arrived in town around 9:30 as planned after a brief but entertaining stopover in mighty Murchison to eat sh*tty pub grub and discuss earthquakes with the locals (theirs was in 1929, magnitude 7.8 with 17 deaths, although the burgers at the local pub have never fully recovered everything else looks fine now which provides us with some hope!)
Apparently the main pitch at Jubilee Park is now under water and nobody is sure if the game will go ahead on there or not. Will find out more over breakfast tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m.
Watched the Warriors get thumped, just waiting for the smokers outside bedroom window to piss off then off to lala land to dream of Coastal glory!!!!!!!

Definitely not the best team in the country any more.

Three for me, and two for them.
