I'm just saying that CL is probably the league you'd compare the SL with being that both are the top flight in each region. Unless PF was meant to compare cities?

Fuck this stupid game

I think it was definitely a "my c*ck is bigger than your c*ck" insinuation.

Dont think rapa would like to be thrown in with wellington region surely? Was just comparing areas topleft, but having played in both i'd say cap premier is a similar level to SPL (possibly a discussion for another thread though as it's not really what i was getting at).

As I have said on previous posts , here is the email from FS & MS on the next round of CC

I have attached above for your information the 2011 Chatham Cup regulations which were forwarded by NZ Football late last week. The announcement of the National Open draw on Radio Sport when the round 3 draw was done may have caused some confusion about the next round games. I draw your attention to clause 4.3 (highlighted in yellow) which indicates the R3 & R4 will involve teams within Footballsouth & Mainland Federations (6 & 7). I hope this clarifies this for you.

Can teams please ensure that full results (half time, full time, extra time, goal scorers) are texted to 027 7111025 as soon as possible after the game. Also, please forward completed original (white copy) of Match Information by Tuesday/Wednesday. Many thanks and good luck to all teams involved

I think it is only if playing for a new club, i.e. if playing for the same club from one season to the next when all OK.
yeah but arent we talking about Musa playing for Waitak which he seems to be, when he was at Wests?

This.

Waitemata making the last 16, that would have to be close to their best result in the Cup ever. Interesting to see who they draw next.

Not usually. The odd Friday night game under lights or occassional catch-up game is it...

How does the NZ association say that the next round is a national draw while 2 district federations happily send out emails stating that it isn't?

Chatham Cup rules From NZS are as follows , see document below

COMPETITION FORMAT

4.1 All teams that have entered this competition shall compete on a knockout basis until two

teams remain unbeaten.

4.2 NZF shall set the dates on which the successive rounds of the competition will be held, or the

day by which one or more rounds must be completed. Games must be played on the dates

specified unless otherwise approved NZF or its nominee.

4.3 The draw for the rounds involving 32 and 16 teams (Rounds 3 and 4) shall so far is practicable

have due regard for the costs of travel for participating teams, and desirability of promoting

matches of such importance throughout New Zealand in order to maximise local and

community involvement. For clarity the practical application of this regulation means that

teams from within District Federations 1, 2 and 3 could be drawn against each other, as could

teams from Federations 3 and 4, 4 and 5 and 6 and 7.

For someone not in the know of the best teams in the northern side of things, what would you say the best teams are from those left? Perhaps ranked? Not wanting this to turn into a fight either just interested!

Bay are kind of MAP's sister club - went to see them in the final last year, and will do so again if they make it.

Ranked, just my opinion on the games I've seen and I havent seen Birko, Rewa or Waitemata play this season:

Bay O
Central
3 Kings
Waitak
O Sports
Birko
Rewa
Waitemata

Waitemata definitely the weakest side and the Bay probably the strongest but any on their day could beat any other side IMO. Central very dangerous with the likes of Corrales, Mulligan and Vicelic in the side.

How so Conor? When I went to school 7 was not 10. And I wasn't allowing for Western scoring 2 of their own. Having said that I acknowledge that it doesn't look great from our end, the real embarrassment is that none of the current top 4 teams in the MPL actually made it to this round. United & Coastal have acquitted themselves well thus far, it remains to be seen who Coastal will get at home in the "draw". it won't be Dun Tech as they have already travelled, my pick is Coastal at home to Roslyn with Dun Tech and Cavvy going head to head.

What's sight without sound? Love without peace? Copulation without conception?

I assume you mean don't only say Waitemata...

Waitemata
Manurewa
Onehunga Sports
Birkenhead United

Palmerston North Marist

Coastal Spirit

Roslyn Wakari

Without knowing too much about teams in the Northern or Southern leagues, I've eliminated teams who I think will be strong whether we play them home or away. From the list above I would fancy our chances at home, and maybe pinch a win away. I think any other away win is a huge upset and a home game only slightly improves our chances. But then again, considering our form lately and the fact it is the cup - anything can happen - especially at home.

Fuck this stupid game
