I thought I saw it as the 14th of Sept but now I see on NZF it's down as the 15th. Any idea which is right?

Huh? They are both on the 15th? I confused.
I hope the draw for the next round is a 'national' draw. Or is that the next round?

ASB Chatham Cup Final September 15
Waitakere City v Cashmere Technical Venue TBC
ASB Women’s Knockout Cup Final September 15
Coastal Spirit v Glenfield Rovers Venue TBC
And a good marketing reason to hold both ASB Cup final in Christchurch is they can be played at ASB Football Park. Plenty of ASB signage already down at the Park.
Yes, I agree it should be held in Chch . ASB park is a superb venue and they always get a big crowd . When we were there for ASB Premiership the whole day was memorable , the hosts made use very welcome
The cost will be neutral for the teams. Either way NZF have to fly two teams to either auckland or CHCH . The only extra cost will be the staff at NZF
Sweet. And if it could please be on the 14th, I'm away on the 15th. In Auckland actually.... might be perfect either way.
Not that I'm simply looking out for my best interests...

Pretty sure I read on YF that the O-League final was played in the middle of a freezing windy field with no amenities. I think English Park is a top venue and will look good full for the first time in ever.

Agreed, squeeze 'em in!
Some times you've just gotta make do with what you've got. Far better than Memorial Park in Palmy and they made that work ok.

North Harbour egg ball team plays at home on the friday night (13th), so North Harbour stadium will be available on Sun 15th.
My moneys on the games being held there.
A dog with a bone :)
I was speaking to someone at a game last night who brought up a very good point. It is been an age since Christchurch has had an opportunity to have a final and this is it. Would there ever be a another time where we could have 2 finalists? Hopefully so but yer. Would be a real slap in the face if Auckland get it again when Christchurch has a purpose built facility perfect for the occasion.
Thoughts?

NZF made the right decision for football in awarding Welly the WC qualifier. Dare we hope for 2 in a row?
Kotahitanga. We are one.

All over Twitter.
Sometimes wonder if a neutral venue should host the final. I guess NZF actually want some sort of half decent crowd.

This is a great decision. Good work NZF.
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Guess they also can't afford to fly two sides away from their home city.
Where do Waitakere and Glenfield Rovers come from???

Can anyone really think of a compelling argument in favour of a neutral venue anyway?
Against: more cost, less crowd.
Christchurch will get excited about these games I reckon. I'm tempted to head down.

Anyone needing somewhere to stay I have a couple of spare beds, PM me. 5 minute drive to the ground.

Neutral park in the big comps overseas seems to be the norm - Wembley for FA Cup, CL Final at a pre-determined venue etc.
I guess the rationale is to provide a venue that favours neither team and gives an even platform for the final to be contested.
But given the scale of the Chatham Cup and the resources available to NZF then holding it in the city of one of the finalists makes more sense. Plus as mentioned by many the crowd would likely be pretty poor in a neutral city.
