Nah I completely agree with you there. Not just with Saturday nights but any time an artificial is used to host games outside of the usual Saturday afternoon. It should over a weeks notice at least. I've been stuffed a few times with work in recent seasons and its been a major hassle as well as costing me money when I have to give away a shift.

This week gave people 5 days warning, definitely not good enough. Even I had to take Sunday off because the draw said Saturday/Sunday until today, and I didn't want to miss the game on the off chance it ended up being on Sunday.

one of our social teams had a half seven in Upper Hutt at short notice - that blows!

We'd had games on a Tuesday at 6pm and only got warning the monday when the draw came out.

Lots of draws - will need a result on day so penalties required.

Nice picks Kingpin, a couple of interesting ones in there. Can't see Ngara losing to Unicol to be honest.

As far as upsets go, I would pick Waiuku to tip over Forrest Hill and Warkworth to edge out Springs (I have to say that though haha).

Waitemata v Tauranga should be a good one but I think Tauranga will take that, they seem to be doing a lot better on the road this year.

why have no central league teams got a bye through to the second round yet all Northern Prem teams and some southern have? sounds like a bit of a stitch up to me.

I think that query was brought up in this thread already and the answer was due to the number of teams.

Certainly for the Northern Prems to be in at this stage of the draw would be ridiculous. You could see the likes of Central playing Puhoi Wolfpack, which with all due respect to the Wolfpack I would expect to finish about 20-0 to Central.

Number of teams.

At 1/4 time there will be 4 auckland, 2 wellington, and 2 Southern teams. So walking back from that, the local draw need to sure they have those number of finalists.

The luxury of a first round bye isn’t available to the Central Region’s top teams with Olympic’s clash against Marist and Upper Hutt City’s meeting with Miramar Rangers the pick of the bunch in Wellington.

All the lolz

Unlikely as the winner of this game will be drawn against the winner of the Richmond / Nelson College tie

Thank you Mr 82.  I stand corrected.  It would have been a lonely bus trip if I went one round prematurely.  Neither Richmond or the boys exactly make me quake with fear, but football's a funny old game....plus there's the pirates to dispatch first of course....

Strangest score of the day has to be Claudelands going down to Takapuna 8-4, what the hell was going on there.

This is what happens when you expect to walk all over the opposition with your reserve side.

14 goal bonanza over in Greytown. 10-4 to BNU
