QUESTION: If you were not part of the football family how would you know that a Wellington team were at home in the semi-final of the Chatham Cup this coming weekend?

Is anything planned?

I've heard it advertised on newstalk ZB ,,

Prediction time i reckon since im bored at course.

Wellington Olympic vs Manurewa

Olympic have had a stellar season to date and remain on course for an impressive double, not to mention the possibility of an unbeaten season. I have seen them only once so can only judge on that performance but it was a fairly clinical display against Forrest Hill. They trailed twice only to fight back and take a deserved 4-3 win. Manurewa have some decent players and have been good this season but i can only see one outcome here.

Buffy's prediction: Olympic 3-0

Three Kings United vs Miramar Rangers

Probably the marquee tie of the two. Three Kings are this seasons dark horse, and after claiming several top scalps will back themselves at home against the much fancied Miramar. For Three Kings, players like Stu Hogg, the Mathews brothers and Luiz Del Monte will be pivotal to the home sides success just as they have been all season. For Miramar i imagine players like Andy Barron, the Little brothers and newbie James Derbyshire will be key. Hard to pick this one, but can't wait for it!!

Buffy's prediction: Miramar 2-1 in extra time

Three for me, and two for them.

Graham's hung the boots up.

Buffy - can't argue with the results you've predicted.
have seen 3 of the 4 sides this year (haven't seen Miramar although am an Auckland based member !).
manurewa have had some good reults to get this far and don't believe they will conced 3 - mark Atkinson (ex All White ) organises them well at the back but don't think they will trouble Olympic much up front.
Any side coached by paul marshall will be hard to break down but believe that Miramar will have too many big game players for 3 Kings but it will be a tight game. likely to be good underfoot conditions in Auckland on Sunday but windy !

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Good luck to the "mighty" Olympic and to Miramar this weekend. Don't think you boys will have too many problems.

go Three Kings!

"Miramar coach John Cameron said they paid the price for a couple of "silly" results but they were now eyeing cup success, which would see them join Waterside as Wellington's most successful club in the 86-year history of the competition."

Yeah I just heard that. Poor preparations for them IMO - having to be at the airport for 7.30am this morning is not ideal I would say.

three kings outclassed miramar, had the bulk of the chances, also had a blatantly obvious penalty shout turned down in the first half, 2nd goal from sam mathews was an absolute beauty, volley from 25 yards.

Yay for Three Kings!!! Instead of worrying about where and when the "all Wellington final" would be, shoud have been doing your homework on Three Kings. Who absolutely took it to Miramar in the second half!! And now the final is in Auckland!!
