I am pretty sure when I was 15 he was about 30.. that was about 6 or 7 years ago when he first joined Palmy Red Sox from money laundering Waiarapa.

NZFC rivalry spills over into Chatham Cup

June 16, 2009

AUCKLAND - Waitakere City and Central United, the sister clubs of bitter NZFC rivals Waitakere United and Auckland City, have been pitted together in the pick of Tuesday's fourth round Chatham Cup draw.

In the final regional round of the Cup's 82nd edition, four time winners Central will travel to Fred Taylor Park on the weekend of July 4 and 5 to meet Waitakere, one of only two clubs to win three successive Chatham Cup finals.

The dark horse of the competition, Three Kings United, face their toughest test yet with the Northern League first division leaders away to Premier League-leading Lynn Avon.

Glenfield Rovers have been drawn at home to Forrest Hill Milford in a North Shore derby, while Nelson Suburbs have been given home advantage as they battle Woolston Technical for Mainland Football's sole place in the quarterfinals.

Waterside-Karori's cup run takes it to Newtown Park to face Wellington Olympic, while three time winners Miramar Rangers will entertain Wellington United at David Farrington Park.

Manurewa - who ended the reign of holders East Coast Bays in the third round - are at home to Metro in round four, while the exact shape of Footballsouth's final tie won't become clear until that region's third round fixtures are completed this weekend.

The eight fourth round winners will enter an open quarterfinal draw, as the 86 year old knockout competition builds towards a September 19 final at North Harbour Stadium.

who would  be the favorites to progress from the northern region?

Metro's form has been rubbish so probably Manurewa (with Bloc 5er Ally Houston in goal).

Glenfield should beat Forrest Hill, but Forrest Hill turned over Melville so don't rule them out.

Three Kings vs Lynn-Avon will be close, despite the league between them.  I'd go Lynn Avon at a squeeze, with NZ football Freestyler and friend of the Fever the 'Robsled' to get one for Three Kings.

Central's form in the league has been patchy whereas Waitak look good in the US1 Mickey Mouse league.  I'm going Waitak at home on Pens.

I wouldn't put money on them though.

if the clubs are notin close proximity i.e 2 Wellington or Southern teams it could be changed logic will prevail

It all depends if Central bring in the big Guns Kerryn Jordan grant Young etc,Waitakere are the more complete side, but Glenfield are a tidy side with Liam Mulrooney and James Pritchett(inj at the moment
Three Kings are former Central and Waitakere players Louis Del Monte and the Mattews bros.Lynn Avon have Sean Devine and other NZFC players.

I'll go with News on all of these too. Leaving Gfield and Waitak flying the US1 flag in the Quarters.

Three for me, and two for them.

Bloody hell. Open the draw up. I'd love to see Wharfies get somebody like Three Kings at home or even away. Give the smaller guys a chance to get a real cup run going.

it is a complete joke that it is still regional at this stage of the competition.  I really hope that the Wharf get a decent trip away when they beat the bubbles just to see if the players carry on the tradition of finishing a bottle a jager before boarding.

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

OMG, he was in my Counteis-Manukau/Franklin reps and Manurewa team when i was a young fella. He started playing in goal at under 19's I think.

Its no longer a problem.

He saved a couple of spot-kicks in the shoot-out in their last tie.

I think Three Kings might just surprise Lynn Avon. Should be good game.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

It may be a mickey mouse league but East Coast Bays are the cup holders and Waitak
have beaten both Bay Olympic and East Subs handsomely this season

radioman I would be keeping your head down mate and worry about your next big game in the cup against Wharfies. you wont be able to have casual yarns to randoms from your goal box without  it being peppered. im predicting 3-1 wharfies.
