I might be slow off the mark (well my team mates would certainly say that) but just found out they're giving a mens U23s league a go again. I understand the point of it but can't see how they will they get the teams necessary to form a league.

Jordan halligan is playing for tech this year (probably the first year in his life he hasn't been coached by his old man); good for him.

A few players switching clubs/guesting for others with U17s boys and girls Auk tournament coming up

Hawks gearing up for their 50th anniversary

New GM

Interesting. The owner of the business that has won the GM contract at Halswell is also contracting work for Mainland on formulating policy development and review on junior rep teams:  Mainland contract

The new league is an u21 league with the allowance of 5 overage players, mainly setup to provide a place for div 1 clubs with a reserve team, ie chch utd

That was May last year. Hope that work has been completed by now and meter is not still running in addition to already high wage bill at MF. Halswell's president also contracts for MF. What keeps their own staff busy, especially during the summer?

2013 PDL = now called "Reserves", 2014 PDL = U23 + 5 Overage allowed. On basis of what happened previous year, think FC stays there don't they?

Ok but who is the 8th reserve grade club?

What sort of depth does Universities have? Are they running a larger squad to cover the reserve league and to push the 1st team players also?

2013: 6th Div2, 6th Div3, 9th Div4. In saying that, likely they have gained a few quality players now they have moved into MPL, which should also bring standard of their PDL team up. Sounds like Selwyn's pre-season well up in numbers and quality Chris?

Work for Halswell was in 2012.

Coastal pre-season tournament draw is out, with 6 teams entered as no Uni or Nelson.  Round robin with games at Linfield and English Park. Thoughts on the winners?

I'm picking Coastal :-)

Yeah numbers definitely up on last year. Good quality too with new boys up front/midfield and few coming back from injury missed from last year. Looking at 40+ for 1st 2 trainings this week

Under promise over deliver. Who's playing who? Only 6 teams (stink!) so probably play each other once?

I'm at every home game too and I haven't heard them swear once. Try going to any Premier League or West Sydney Wanderers game and tell people to not cheer and be silly.

I am at most Canterbury United games on the bank and enjoy the atmosphere and banter.  I bring my children and have no problem with the area behind the dugout.  The worst language comes from the Canterbury dugout.

You will never grow the fan base if you discourage the support that is given.  Some of the chants and comments coming from the Yellow Fever zone and English football fans are far worse and I don't have a problem with them either.

Jordan moved back to Nomads for a few weeks last season.... and then promptly left again!

Strange to have such a big secret for a PDL coach of a Div 1 side. What's the big deal?  Only Tech have top coaches doing the reserve team.
