Jensen called into Ferns squad

Junior Football Ferns centre back Emily Jensen is in line to make her senior international debut after being named on Saturday as an injury replacement for the four-team invitational tournament in China starting next week.

The 18-year-old defender replaces Ali Riley with the fullback ruled out of the squad through injury just before departing for China; where the Football Ferns will meet the hosts, Korea DPR and Mexico.

Jensen, a member of the Mainland Pride team which took out the 2013 ASB Women’s League, joins CJ Bott and Evie Millynn as first-time Football Ferns squad members in China from the current New Zealand U-20 side.

New Zealand’s first match of the four-team tournament is against China on Tuesday 11 February

I realise this is Mainland Premier League Thread but thought some of you might know...

Does anyone know if MF allow a team to enter Masters 3? Or does there need to be a space (to avoid a bye) etc? For instance I know new teams have to enter Div 6.

We're pretty much all eligible for Masters (4 or 5 of us actually only a couple of years away from the 45+ grade!), so are looking to move grades this coming season.

Last season we wanted to move from Pres A to Pres B and they flatly refused and when I said a number of our older guys found the number of young teams in Pres A tough and would likely give the game away if made to stay in Pres A, they replied saying they wouldn't budge, we had to stay in Pres A and that it would be 'unfortunate' if we gave the game away.

So they were happy for 15 guys to stop playing the game rather than allow us to drop down a grade.

Thoughts?

Coastal have been able to add teams in various grades over the years with not too much hassle. I reckon go through your club organiser again and put your request in to change grades, and hopefully there will be room.  There is often teams pulling out, moving around anyways so you should get in soon. Not sure if Coastal will have a Pres B team this year so there may be a spare spot.

The FC20 keeper on the shopping list for MPL sides.

Maybe more than one.

Wonder if KB had a word about needing to be at a certain club to be in the mix for next seasons Dragons team?

Wouldn't be a surprise as I think last years Cashmere keeper returned to the UK.

Womens Div 1 and 2 need Halswell White and Coastal to drop down to Div 2 and Selwyn & Mid Canterbury to step up to Div 1.... Those 2 sides are better than most of the Div 1 sides!

Isn't that why promotion/relegation exists? Don't they have to prove they are good enough by winning the league?

Which they did last season... they finished 1st and 2nd so we should see them line up in Div 1...... Bet it doesn't happen though!

Cashmere Technical named Club of the Year at tonight's Hadlee Canterbury Sports Awards.

Well done Cashmere although they seem to have a lot detractors on here it is a very we'll run club it seems

First time on this thread although I do have a good laugh at at all the rumours. I.ve just been told that the club had received the above award. This award is a credit to all the volunteers that set the pitch up right through to those administering the club.passionate people who give up a lot of time for their pride of their club.

Superb

No mention of schools in 14s or 15s seems to be a bit of an oversight....
