It's often mentioned how poor the mainland league is so this doesn't say much for Claphams all white status and ambitions to play professionally! Additionally I don't see how the league is going to get any stronger with one team basically resembling Canterbury United. Must have 13-15 players who have been involved with the Dragons as well as the whole backroom staff. Yes western are 4 from 4 but deep down I'm sure they know they're heading for second at best. Must get bored winning every week without much competition.

Bullshit. Win MPL. Chatham cup run. Build a dynasty. Compete in any Nat/regional club league if it eventuates.

Thankful Nomads v Coastal is shifted.

I've not seen Padmore work. Heard some positive things though from some families at Burnley.

If lack of local history and club politics is an advantage how about Xavier for the top job? There has been a bit of a pathway from Coastal to Mainland...

Nil all at ASB park today and it was pretty much as you'd expect between 6th v 8th. Anyone have a different view?

Todays result: Nomads 0 Coastal 0 a game of missed chances the best in the 57 minute when Coastal hit the cross bar.

Agreed, 2 very weak teams lumping it long constantly and struggling to put 3 passes together. A Very poor quality match.

Those 2 will definately be in the bottom 2 come end of season. Nelson could get dragged into it if they dont start performing better also.

What about the chance cleared off the line early second half from a Nomads corner?

I wouldn't say both teams were lumping it long. Yes it wasn't the best quality match but there was plenty of dramarama with chances both ways. Better quality finishing would have had a crucial result for either team.

Go on. You know you want to. Perhaps CashTech are not paying so much as letting these players in on the big plan that GG mentioned. No money, but if you want in on the big reveal for 2015, then come sign up. Keith will be coaching it too btw...
Thistles has gotten himself offside with them over at mainland too, and is now a tad embittered by the new artificial pitches going some place else maybe, so he now slags down everything Mainland try to do as being wrong, terribly planned or done 20 years ago by him and it worked until he wasn't in charge etc etc, all of which is smoke and mirrors for the big new plan to break away from the umbrella and do it his way, like in the good old days eh!

Perhaps Tsetso shares Mainlands vision? Who knows? I certainly don't, as you can probably tell from this post. Still, at least I didn't cut and paste it like last time...

You can ascertain what your opponent is afraid of by observing the means by which he attempts to frighten you

It pretty difficult to play pretty football on a day like today too.

Nothing wrong at all with a club having its own vision. Happens up and down the country. Some clubs with really strong visions have great relationships with their local fed but you also find clubs with very strong views on how to do things have poor relationships with their local fed. Doesn't make one way right or wrong. And let's remember players have a choice - they get to choose who they play for, afterall.

No excuse not to play quality on the deck, on a wet artificial, especially in windy conditions. Every decent player would like a bit of zip on a decent surface.

If the rumours of Keith coming back to coach next season are true, where's that leave you Broonie?

Don't forget the header from the same corner by the same defender who had the shot that was also cleared off the line.
Could Bays be having the same season as  Coastal and Nomads.
Tech having a stroll in the park today.
Nomads only lost 1 nil to Cashmere and got a draw with Bays and Coastal .
Welcome to  the relegation mix Bays.

Cashmere and western have 8 point break after just 5 games. Standard of league looks to have dropped again.

Vim, that bad feeling will be being shared by a few other clubs. Tipping a rest of the season long relegation dogfight.

You mean the white Coastal embrodied shirt at a Parklands game? Why yes she does.

Don't get some of these romours .... I'll dispel a few.

I won't be applying for can utd job , I'm not on the board of can utd resigned 5 months ago , I will be at tech next year unless I get sacked but I'll still be at the club playing masters . Ac has joined the club as an employee as we have several infrasrture projects on the go new pitch new changing facilities etc ( he is a very capable young man in that area ,utilising his uni degree)not sure if he'll play. Hopefully he'll train so our young talent that train with us can learn off him.

Tech are a very ambitious club but we know our place and are 100% behind  the Canterbury utd concept so no hidden agenda which some people are commenting on here about

Both Cashmere Technicial and Western have the chance to establish a new record for wins at the start of a MPL if they win a sixth straight game tomorrow. Nomads in 2007, Nelson Suburbs in 2008 and again in 2010 also have won five games at the start of the season. In 2008 Suburbs went on to become the only side to go through the season unbeaten with a 17 win and 4 draw record.

Technical have joined Nelson Suburbs in 2008 as the only two sides in the history of the MPL not to concede a goal in the first five games of the season, Suburbs record was 18 goals so Technical now have the best goal tally at the start of the season. In 2008 Suburbs went on tot notch up 62 goals the best ever tally in an 8 team 21 round season unitl Technical matched it last season.

The longest sequence on not concede a goals is seven games held by Suburbs two at the end of the 2009 season with 5 at the start of the 2010, the the longest sequence during a season is 6 games set by Western in the first season of the MPL in 2002.

At the moment both Technical and Western hold a eight point lead over third placed Halswell which is the biggest points gap from the top team(s) back to third placed team after 5 rounds.

His injury not as bad as first thought, has broken rib in the back, cheers for the thought.

Whats up with FC20 in div 1? Conceded 12 goals in last 2 games & sitting in bottom half of the table, not good when you drop from MPL

Yeah obviously things can change quite abit when you drop down but surely they should have more depth to be more competitive when in div 1, is early days but still
