Kick them out if they can't fulfill their fixtures! No excuse for it, surely they have more than 1 team!

Is there a limit of how many games you can default before you're kicked out?

Apparently Due to Injuries and Work commitments.  Not sure of their player depth etc, so maybe a fair excuse. But at this level, does make it hard.  But on the other hand - We'll take the 3 points ta.

Back in the day of Div 1 (and I dearly hope we ain't there next season) there was nothing better than the trip to Ash-Vegas. The Rakaia bridge, the souvalaki, the Dunsandel. Good times.

Unsure a few years ago , pre FC Twenty11, the Burnside Women's Premier League side deaulted twice in a season and if I recall correctly they were not even fined, as per the MPL rules.

Here you are - stats for Mainland Premier League goals from when the league started in 2002 (sadly do not have records for total games playedfor each player).

Gareth Turnbull: 78 goals scored in 58 games which includes 6 hat tricks with 1 four goal haul, scored over 10 seasons. 52 for Western and 26 for Coastal. Winner of Golden Boot Trophy twice

Keith Grosvenor: 79 goals scored in 56  games which includes 4 hat tricks with 1 four goal haul, scored over 8 seasons. 63 for Halswell and 16 for Burnside. Winner of Golden Boot Trophy three times. Keith holds the record for the most goals scored in a league season  with 25 in the 2002.

Plenty of goals in the Men's MPL today with both Halswell and  Nomads having a player sent off with Halswell having a goal disallowed which would have put then 3 - 2. Hard luck to University probably worth a point today, hard to see why they are at the bottom of the table.

Bays heading north tomorrow without Russell, Michael (White) and Paris.

Games in the next ground: Technical vs. Suburbs, Bays vs. Coastal, Halswell vs. Nomads and Western vs. University

The Coastal Halswell game had absolutely everything yesterday. 2-0 up, only for Halswell to score 2 quick goals meant we were in major danger of losing it all.  Louie Bush scored his second stunning goal in a week by thrashing home a leftie into the top corner with a minute or so left meant we came away with a crucial 3 points.

Gareth scoring the record-equalling goal was cool too, one more for the record and he came close hitting the bar and also even attempted an overhead.  Twas a day of dramarama indeed.  There I said it.

You forgot the 'goal' was disallowed for Halswell that would have put them 3 - 2 up, heard it was a very tight call.

Yip that happened right down the other end. Lino had his flag up for a while but it sure was crucial.

Looked way off side from where I was. :-)

Here's hoping Xavier doesn't quit then ........

Looking at that the minimum points to survive is 7 (Nomads 2013), looking precarious for Uni. Still very tight at the bottom, great result for Nomads knocking over Western yesterday, sounds like the ref got off the pitch unmolested as well, awesome.

What's sight without sound? Love without peace? Copulation without conception?

Er yes but.
No.
Just thought you may have known.
Keith did have a run for Avonhead back in the day played  at Sunnyside ground in the yellow and blue, scored at least one that day.
Not the only MPL/Southern League or National league player to strip up for Avonhead Tavern back during the Ken Harvey era.
Good to see Nomads winning trophies [MPL, English Cup] as have Woolston Tech making use of the young players to wear the yellow and blue of The Tavern.
Mind you the older ones to wear the yellow and bluenot bad players either with more than one ex All White.
Just for Vim includes some New Brighton lads from the early 70s defecting over as well.

Register all Murray's Div 6 Burwood players with Mid Canterbury, change the team name to Mid Canterbury Burwood and they will get a chance to see how they compete. No bye in Div1, everyone's a winner. Too much common sense ?

When is this game to be played?

Same time as all other Chatham Cup matches unfortunately.  2pm Queens Birthday Monday.  I'd love to be able to watch it. They should flick on the two lights they have at Clare Park and turn it into a day/nighter.

Vim don't bother with the Coastal v Nomads game on Monday go watch the real game at Clare Park.

Nomads missing the two top goal scorers [in all comps this season] from both the weekends games.

Not a bad way to spend the red card stand down being at an NZ Futsal training camp.

Would've been good if the ref knew why he blew the whistle and didn't need to go and ask the ass refs and 4th blind man.

Don't they do video reviews on how to spot diving on Monday night refs training?

Took one for the team to help get the 3 points.

News Flash- Chatham Cup tie between Burwood and Cashmere Technical may not be at Clare Park. Hear workers have driven trucks on pitch and have dug  hole in front of one of the goals.
