Broonie, not that you are, but yourself and tech should never have to apologise for your success. Other clubs should be trying to figure out how to bridge the gap between themselves and you, even if they don't have the same resources rather than dropping their bottom lip every time they get beat by you.

I can't imagine Xavier and coastal were complaining when the beat the two division 1 sides in close battles in earlier rounds.

If all clubs in Canterbury were half as aspirational as Cashmere Technical then we would have a much, much more competitive region. Too many people happy to stand and point fingers rather than attacking the issues head on like tech do.

I myself will be cheering tech on to get a 3rd consecutive Chatham Cup!

Yeah reckon Nomads can get up over Chch Utd

As good as we are going currently, Cash Tech will be a step to far unless our old mate and former club member Broonie decides rotation is the order of the day and sends a mixture of Reserves and Turtles into bat for our semi

Nomads still to get revenge over Coastal before the thought of Chch U or MBM Hurunui.

Expect the Nomads reserve team players to be given a run v Coastal in the cup as a much bigger game on the following Saturday.

Promotion is all that matters at the moment for Nomads.

If the reserve boys can get up over Coastal then yep it's all on for the next round.

Hasn't padmore said exactly that for selwyn? Who is going to go up? Surely FC are favourites?

From a "points on the board" perspective yep, you'd have to say we are favourites with a 4 point lead and a slightly superior goal diff. But top 3 all have to play each other still so realistically any of the top 3 could win it without it being a surprise. You'd think we'll get the job done at home vs the Turtles this weekend, tricky away games for the other 2 at Waimak and Parklands so quietly hoping the lead extends to 6 points by Saturday night :)

Biggest game of the weekend?

Cashmere Technical verses Coastal Spirit in the Robbie's Women's PL. Coastal the champs since 2012 leading  the table with 25 points, Tech three points behind in second place, with Universities in third on 19 with Coastal having played two more game than their rivals. Plenty of permutations with any of the sides able to take out the title. Coastal's four year reign likely to be over if they do not defeat Tech.

Great result for Rams. Game on for relegation battle? If Halswell go down will that hasten their demise to Selwyn?

Unbiased view - Utd had about 2 shots (maybe 3) scored 2. First was a screamer! Second was rubbish, the Tech keeper got booked after about 30 mins and just got the yips. Couldn't catch, sweep, do anything - even wanted to change gloves

Tech should have scored 5-6. However, the Utd keeper pulled off 2-3 stunning saves. And were otherwise wasteful

Glad Tech drew as we now have a proper title race on our hands. It's no fun when the win every game.

FT Nelson Suburbs 3 Coastal 1 so Tech's lead now just two points.

And they play the 4 teams directly behind them in the run in. Getting interesting.

Some interesting times in both MPL and Div1 mens. 2 points separate Nelson and CashTech at the top with them still to play each other. Halswell and Chch Utd also separated by 2 points and still to play each other. Div1 tight too, 4 points from 1st to 3rd with both Selwyn and Nomads having a game in hand on FC2011. These 3 still to play each other too.

Goal difference may well come into things, so the humping Halswell got yesterday won't help. Squeeky bum time for lots of footballers in the region.

Likewise in the Women's Premier League, with any one of Coastal, Technical and Universities still able to win with enough permutations which could see all three finishing level in 28 points.
