My players' player of the year award goes to vim fuego - thanks. Do you reckon my tipping would improve by watching more or less game time next season?

Considering I watched 21 games and you watched 0, and still managed to beat me by 3 points I think you're doing ok.

Plus I had no knowledge on the MPL I'd saying watching less is the way for

well done the Cavvy train , the better team on the day .

The Tech lads have been superb this season , they stood up all year,  even in defeat they gave there all.

Congrats to Bays on a good performance and winning the English cup.

To  our great motivators in Vim , Slushy , The train , Foal and others thanks for the entertainment . Now that I'm just a supporter of Tech instead of the fat controller hopefully I can comment on here without Vim boy telling me off.

On the Vim boy , mate what was the story with those shorts yesterday.

The terraces favourate song " you only sing when your winning" comes to mind when the The train sneaked off to the double decker before watching thier lads, who gave thier all, receive thier medals.

I thought Coastal played some good football this year and I congratulate them on a good year

Congrats Bays! What a performance, turning it up when it mattered most. Fraser Angus continuing his streak of banging on and off the pitch as predicted, seen after the game along side his tasty blonde after bagging yet another goal!

Yer sh!thouse end to the season, no doubt about it. Still, what a ride. After watching my club's top team for many years it's been a pleasure to finally see us challenging for the title. Great season, just a horror finish.

Yes John, now you are not one of the face/role model of your club, in my opinion, you can say what you want. Not that anyone listens to me anyways.

Other digs about us leaving for our wicked double decker bus (which was fantastic idea and gift) is pretty stink. We had shown our support to the team when we clapped off and they thanked us as we do every game. Not sure I've seen any other fans and teams do that but oh well.

Yes we've had some overactive and overeager fans on here. I can't take responsibility for those ones however I stand by everything I've said and I'm happy that it's at least been an inspiration for you.

No time to cry, got more football to do.

Good times.

I predicted John Browns exit and Ferrymead to have the last laugh. Easy pickings. As for Coastal fans, I think it was absolutely a fantastic effort. I wish they wernt so quite now though. The banter was awesome.  Don't be ashamed for being so loud and audacious n then your team crumbling at the death. As much as I don't like Coastal, well done for doing so well and bringing something different.

That Bays win should squash Highfield and Dre rumours to leave..? Love your work Bays. Danny finally got the better of Ekow. Would like to see Ekow stay on? What's the story there? I'm hearing all sorts. Train can you confirm?

What is the story with the special privileges Mainland gives you guys?  Your own security contingent and your own Mainland staff member supervising your every move - every so often bringing his secret communication device to his ear.  Is it true his name is Brad Maxwell Smart?  How come you guys get all that?

Come the Cashmere Tech Caversham game there was no security and the Mainland staff member had decided to spend more time in the open rather than hiding behind speaker stands and small shrubs.  Come on that is not fair why can't Cashmere Tech/Caversham fans get the same?

Yeah I'm not going to lie but I couldn't help but stand with the Coastal fans even though i was going for Ferrymead haha it was fun.

Its a shame for NZ football about how the fans are were treated. A real shame. Was asking them if they will be down to support Dragons and their response was "no way look at how we are treated"

Maybe when Western get relegated n disappear forever then Alby can disappear too

Had Western gone down this year they'd be gone burger.

What do they actually have to bring to another club? Not much IMO in the playing stakes at MPL or Reserves, no clubrooms and not much of a training pitch.

Yes they do play at English Park for home games but IMO that a negative at MPL level with one man and a dog watching them.

Following on from Scottie Rd's post...

Smart move by Christchurch United to sell to the richest football man in town; best bet to keep the club alive. I forsee national league club application in the (distant?) future.

As for Western, I'm amazed they haven't merged with Nomads and Papanui. Pride and hope stands in the way, I guess. No WPL team among those 3 clubs, but now 2 MPL teams, so merger soon unlikely. Not many junior feeder teams though. Yet in the southwest...

Halswell. No MPL or WPL representation now. For the south west of Chch (with its growth and junior base) to have no mens or womens team in the top flight, wow. Now that the Rams merger option is gone (and unsure of current relations with Selwyn), they'll have to try to fight their way back. Could be a long few years for the Hawks.

Bays and FC20 seem in reasonable health for their respective circumstances; Coastal first teams doing well on the pitch but need CCC to upgrade Cuthberts #1 or a longer term plan B. Cashmere coaching appointment will be interesting. Clapham may get it but I could see a left field surprise too (not currently affiliated with CTFC or Christchurch), as an indicator of the club's ambition.

What else is news around the clubs?

Kotahitanga. We are one.

The cost of travel combined with the Brando effect kept most people away I would guess.

I've made a quick survey which gives your opinions on coach, defender, midfielder, striker of the year. Feel free to complete it if you like. I won't post individual reports just a summary this time next week. It's obviously not scientific considering the sample of people on this forum....
