No CCL games this week.... have to wait longer

Sets up the derby nicely next week then. I'm picking Selwyn to wait another week, Halswell on good run as of late

The Question is now - Where will that game be played?  With most of the pitches in Chch having significant water on them and more rain predicted Wed/Thurs and Fri will that mean MPL/CCL/WPL only games again?

Only MPL and CCL leagues on Mainland site at the moment. Maybe English Park on Wednesday/Thursday/Friday night to help out finishing leagues? Don't know if anything is currently there at the moment?

So if burwod go down (haven't lived up to their billing of a couple of years ago) will hurinui rangers be promoted as the next eligible team in div 1? All the other teams have teams from their club already playing in MPL/CCL.

Kotahitanga. We are one.

I don't think you can actually go down out of this league like that (we at Parkland's finished bottom last year). It is a league you could express an interest to join and so this would then be open to Hurunui if they wish too.

This is certainly how it was, it may have changed now the league has been in place for 2 years

No relegation in CCL. Open to any club not already in MPL, so Hurunui could have gone into CCL any time.

Draw will be enough for Selwyn to be crowned champions, so all the pressure on United

If Coastal and FC are considered new clubs then Coastal first games was in 2011 with FC first outing along with another 'new' club Cashmere Technical in 2012.

The new last club (not a merged club) was Burnside in 2008 to 2010 with Richmond the only other new club in 2007 and 2008.

Was a good game with a great crowd - several hundred plus. In the end Selwyn made the most of the chances and worthy of their win - well done Lee and everyone at Selwyn.

01 Aug 10:41

Well done Lee and Chris. ?

You can ascertain what your opponent is afraid of by observing the means by which he attempts to frighten you

Thanks from the boys.  They are bit preoccupied at moment,

Cheers also sparepart.

Selwyn will become the 20th different club to play in the MPL, the first from outside either Christchurch or Nelson.

fully deserved

Well done to Selwyn the best team in the CCL by a large margin this season.

Has Dan Ede been invited to the Canterbury Dragons early week night training sessions yet?

I'm not saying i think he's good enough but if Christchurch United have a striker or whatever position they play down there then yes Dan should be getting the chance.

Unfortunately not, they are looking for someone with pace and goals is what has been said the last few years.

I have bigger things to worry about with SUFC over the summer

Nice reply Dan :) I've never had to chase you around the pitch or try and stop you scoring goals! Easily the easiest attacker to play against in the CCL (not!)
