We dont actually have an official coach just player coach. Our coaches from last year would certainly have had a go. Liam Dunbar and Nathan
We missed a lot of opportunities. We had a decent chance and weren't played out of the game by them. No team played better than the other. We are just having trouble in the final third. Something we really need to work on.
Plus one of our guys missed a penalty.[/QUOTE]
Well don't get better in that final third this weekend please
I think after the first few weeks the league is now becoming quite competitive. As you said the difference between the teams is in the final third. From what I have seen all teams are getting into attacking positions but a lot of the time just not putting away chances.
I must admit I had some doubts about the U21 leagues but now think if handled properly by Capital Football it could be a very good pathway for players into the senior ranks. For example if your a good 15 year old you want as much game time as possible so this gives it to you.
If your 17 and out of school & not yet at the right level for your clubs 1st or 2nd team this gives you a year or 2 to build your skills and play in a competitive league (with proper refs a lot of the time) without having to go and play for your clubs 10th team in Capital 15 & get the crap kicked out of you (no disrespect intended to those in that league).
It does however need to be handled properly & taken seriously by Capital Football as well as by the clubs. We are finding that there are a lot of players out there that want to play but for one reason or another aren't so this is a great opportunity for clubs to hold onto those players at 16-21 who might otherwise give up the game.
