Topleft07, no problems with your approach, you have done the right thing and are using it as a development opportunity as opposed to grabbing all the elite 1stX1 school players from the local area who are already well catered for by the system.
The idea is to provide a pathway and development opportunity into Senior football and into the clubs for those players who are not at the top level yet. I think the big issue this season is that there is not a div 1 so we will get the Miramar situation. With luck Capital Football will realise this and re-instigate the top div next season.
We have used the League to develop those good 2ndx1 players from the local schools (and a few 1stx1 players) as well as providing an opportunity for the not so good players to get more game time, good coaching (if I do say so myself
) & help them reach their potential.
) & help them reach their potential. In fact this season we have a number of U21 players who are now playing for the club reserve & 3rd team so the pathway is working.
The big thing I see is that my club now has another 64 players who may stick around and play Senior football for us. The bulk of these guys wont make the 1st team but they are the ones that the clubs use to subsidise their top teams so if they are not looked after or drift away the game as a whole suffers.

Long winded reply I know but hopefuly it sums things up. I look forward to playing your team.
I can see your point about the elite players possibly being in the wrong place but two divisions is deffinately the answer. If the better kids want to play I can't see why we should stop them, the better the league is the better it is going to be for developing players. Ideally it would be good for more clubs jump on it so there's enough teams for two divisions in the future. That way we can please everyone, hopefully.
