Sydney FC are up 2-0 at the break.

For the 1st goal Douglas Costa made a great pass to give Rhyan Grant an easy cross to assist Oahim's goal.

 - What I'm trying to say is Costa assisted the assist (aka the Hockey Assist)

Then Costa assisted the 2nd goal from a corner (Rhyan Grant was scorer of the 2nd)

Sydney FC has been very dominant

Sydney play at 10pm tonight. Costa's debut.

Well, he's provided the assist for Sydney's second goal scored by Grant.

Beaten to it.

Finishes 5-0 to Sydney.

Costa played 69 minutes - assisted 1 and 'Hockey assisted' (assisted the assist) 2.

The other 2 were own goals

So is this the 2nd rate asian comp? Sydney destroyed that HK team. 73% possession. 30 odd shots.

Yes AFC Champions League Two, after AFC revamped their comps. Would this HK team be any better than a NPL side?

Sanfrecce Hiroshima is the only decent team in Sydney's pool (4th side is from the Philippines). I wouldn't be judging Costa at all, until the ALM starts. SFC play Hiroshima - who have Tolgay Arslan and currently sit 2nd in the J1 - October 23rd.

A 2-1 loss for CCM to Buriram United.

CCM keeper Pavlesic got sent off in the 2nd half, he came out of the box to try and beat a Buriram attacker to the ball but ended up taking out the player instead

CCM were already 2-0 down at that point, Storm Roux was the player to make way for the substitute keeper.

CCM got their goal late in added time.

Buriram with 2 ex Socceroos defenders in Curtis Good (scored a goal) & Kenneth Dougall. They only had 2 Thais starting.

ALM season hasn't started yet, CCM had a similar big change over of players last off season, plus lost their first 4 ALM games - yet still went on to win 3 titles.

But just feel this season the odds are they can't repeat that success. Torres, Balard, Nisbet, Farrell, Hall & Vukovic are all big Outs, and they must be due a dud new visa player. Futhermore they need to juggle AFC Champions League Elite games through the early part of the season. A much tougher comp that the secondary AFC Cup they won last campaign.

A bit rubbish from ccm. But guess it's still pre season.

That won't help the Aussie coefficient.

They won't have that excuse in their next ACLE match so we'll see

Sydney FC down 1-0 after 3 minutes. Andrew Redmayne should've saved it but it went right through him.

Also they are playing on a pretty old style artificial turf so I'm surprised they are playing Costa

Update: Lolley evens it at 1-1 after 26 mins

Finishes 4-1 to Sydney FC.

Amanatidis scored the final goal in the 5th minute of added time

Andrew Redmayne made a few great saves in the 2nd half to keep Kaya at just the 1 goal.

Sydney FC now have 6pts from their first two ACL 2 matches and a GD of +8

For some context they have beaten a club from Hong Kong, and tonight one in the Philippines.

Melbourne City start their Women's Champions League campaign with a 2-1 win over Bam Khatoon FC from Iran

Speckmaier scored the 2nd - Here's the goal: (Edit: It's meant to start at the goal but if it doesn't just cue it to about 58 mins 20) https://www.youtube.com/live/o1IS7-VPl7U?t=3500&si=ukBGrzZCy5-dDwDU

Despite the result, I've seen a lot of positive comments regarding the performance of Sydney. Sanfrecce is a top team & Sydney went over there and gave them a decent challenge.

Yeah Hiroshima are an excellent side. Lead the J League currently if just 1 point ahead of Vissel Kobe, and Tolgay Arslan has continued his hot form from Melb City with 7 goals in 13 J1 matches.

Gonna be fascinating the Auckland vs SFC game on Sunday. With it's Corica & McFlynn sub plot. Uffie back in NZ.

Much bigger challenge for AFC, than toothless Brisbane.

Yeah I managed to watch parts of this game and Sydney FC were definitely competitive throughout, and for periods looked the better team

CCM score a late goal to save a point vs Shanghai Shenua, 2-2. Sounds like they were the better side but couldn't convert their chances?

FYI - Kevin Muscat’s club have won the CSL.
So as coach he’s won titles in Australia, Japan and China

Wonder if he’s a chance of coaching somewhere like Rangers in the SPL

Yipe that's a howler. Easy to forget how good & important Vukovic was for the Mariners.

18 year Peraić-Cullen is literally half his age. Wonder if Adam Pavlesic who we thought might have been on the Nix's radar a few months ago, now gets a crack in goal at Gosford.

CCM winless in the AFC Champions League Elite, with 1D & 4L. Won't be improving the ALM's coefficient, and so no 2nd ALM team into that comp anytime soon.

Pavlesic looked much worse in his Aussie Cup + AFC appearances this season, can't see them dropping DPC for that.

I'll be honest that wasn't a fun watch. The Eastern fans did nothing but boo the whole game. And I really mean the whole game. There were occasional cheers and chants for their home team but 95% of the game was just booing. After a while I just switched to the Matilda's game
