This weekend will be the 2nd time this season Auckland have played SFC, days after Sydney have had to travel midweek to Asia for a game.
Same happened way back in October, Smurfs losing 1-0 at Mt Smart, a few days after losing to Sanfrecce Hiroshimain Japan. Helped AFC that Costa picked up a niggle against Hiroshima and missed the match in Penrose.

Lion City seemed to be mostly import players, quite a few of them of A League standard at least. I was really impressed with their defending which gave them a fully deserved win.

To be fair, their attacking performance in the first leg wasn't anything to complain about either. They would be well matched against any A-League team.

AFC club competitions rankings (co-efficients) have the Thai league ranked 7th and the A League 10th. The easy beats here might be Macarthur.
This is the 2025–26 AFC Champions League Two, R16 that has two Thai sides remaining. Fellow Thai club Ratchaburi beat Indonesia's Persib 3-0 overnight.
Macarthur needs to overturn a 0-2 deficit tonight in order to proceed.
If they manage to do that, it puts Aussie within touching distance of China in the AFC coefficients, who they need to surpass in order to get another spot in Asia.
