Classic indication of how blind the Australian media are to anything to do with him.

...or the FFA are jacking it up to make sure he gets it.  maybe it's in his contract.

No Victory player should be up there the way they've been playing.

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

exactly and to suggest that Kewell is the best of them is offensive to every other player in the league..

To put it into perspective though, Kewel only has 1 more point than Ifill who has missed half the games and playing at half pace in many of the others. There realy doesn't seem to be a runaway standout. The real farce is how is Siggy so low???

muscat is very low for me

kewell, omg, i am speechless, there are other victory players who should be higher

if he wins this it will be just ridiculous

I think it works like after each game "an expert" awards 3 points, 2 points and 1 point to 3 different players. And they keep a running count. We don't really know how the final decision is made though.

BTW I don't agree there are other victory players that deserve to be higher. Thomson was awesome in the first few games but has started blowing a large number of really good chances. I think Kewell is an overentitled brat and is a bit too high but I can understand him being up around 7-10 points. He has probably been given the benefit of the doubt a number of times but he has actually been creating a number of opportunities in all the recent games. The Tards problems are with the overall inbalance of their squad. Remember that the Tards don't have that many losses so in a competition like this they don't automatically bleed these points to players from the other team.

Kewell has actually been very good lately - not saying that the commentators over-inflated opinion of him is justified; but can't really say he's been sh*te either. Not lately ,anyway.

Come on he hasnt been very good at all,has shown the ODD good touch then normally follows that with a number of crap ones then another another good one and everybody raves on.

Will be a complete joke if he ends up in the top 3.

Really? Is anybody really surprised that Kewell is up there?

Next time the Victory are on telly, shut your eyes and just listen to the commentary. Harry Kewell is, apparently, a God. He can do no wrong. From the majestic, skilful way he ties his bootlaces, the manly way he fills out his shirt, his haircut, the way he can pretend to us mere mortals that he has f**ked something up when it's actually a sublime piece of skill. The way he can nearly score what would nearly have ben the most magnificent goal ever seen by anyone on this planet, ever. His gracious, modest and understated post game interviews.

If Harry and Archie aren't in the mix, who have the Fox commentators got to jizz about?

I'm more surprised that Brett Emerton has got any points at all.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

If he hadn't scored last night on the back of HUGELY average decision from Gillett his entire impact on the game would have been about 4 touches.  Not even close to good, let alone very good.  Closer, in fact to f**king rubbish.

Leo at his worst this season has offered us more than Kewell at his best has offered Melbourne.  You can at least rely on Leo to chase and hassle in defence. Harry stands and looks decorative.

...and this is without a couple of indredibly ugly tackles that other players would have seen red for and the diving.

Zwaanswijk has been on 15 points since round 12, he missed a game with suspension but would have thought he would have still picked up points since then. Siggy was on 10 points, and Kewell was on 5 then.

Commentators award the three 'best' players on the park post match

Dewhurst is pretty biased from a Phoenix POV, but the man-love for Kewell from Bosnich, Slater, Harper, Speed etc. has been cringe-worthy material.

Nice to see Ifill and SigmUnd up there.

Not sure if its the commentators but will be a Fox journo that does it, assuming its done like the Dally M is in the NRL.

They award the points straight after the game so I'm assuming its the commentators.

It is either done by commentators or the fox 'matchday saturday' team - depending on the day of the match of course. Thats what was advertised at the beginning of the yesr

So did Harry get all 3 in the Tardby? Someone posted Ifill got 3, so could be in the lead if Zwaanswijk didn't pick up anything.

Well Dewhurst certainly picked the right players, can't argue with Manny Fenton and Smith.

Berisha took that goal nicely, but also blew a 1v1 and a 2v1 in the first half. Then again, I wouldn't have given it to Murdocca either, I thought he was quite average.
