Great finish... will get some great air time, which is good for Welly's crowd!!
Pnjaker (sorry about spelling) has done very well in his 2 games. A lot of questions around his 'brain fades' for the All Whites, but he has certainly looked at this level.
Agree, he has been a rock in defense and his distribution is right up there.
Great result for the team as nil all draws are not the way to bring back the crowds. A winner in the last minute will mean they are buzzing and will likely return.
Wonderful game for the neutrals. Sydney fans online absolutely FUMING about the VAR, Pijnaker handling the ball, an apparent rugby tackle in the other penalty box (it looked pretty rough from where I was, but the ref was closer *shrug*) and have declared that AFC are being "protected" by the A-League leadership in the way that WSW allegedly were in their first season. Salt-eeeee.
T-AFC's chant about Liam Gillion proved so popular we were asked for additional chant sheets:
ooh stevie, do you know what he's worth liam gillion's the best on earth the silky winner with the flying feet he's winning us the toilet seat

Congrats on getting the 2nd win and now like the Nix so often get, a full month or more without a "Home" game. How that will affect crowd numbers will be interesting.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!
The most impressive thing about Auckland FC so far is the solidity, work-rate and decision-making. Things which often take time to build. They look like an experienced side already. Great mentality. Recruitment appears to be first class.
I thought Gallegos was good today as well as Verstraete. Both centre backs are excellent, credit to Nando for the winner. I think May will be end the season as one of the best players in the league.
Gillion again looked super tricky and always keen to take on the man. Makes you wonder how many good domestic players in NZ are only a few months of a professional environment away from blossoming (e.g. Ryan Thomas, Stamenic, Greive, etc.).
What a great game and we have in store next week. Can’t wait!
Something was bugging me about the setup with AFC. Yep, they've had 2 excellent crowds but something was missing. I finally figured it. At Sky the Fever Zone isis located in the corner where the players come out and the southern goal is in sight.
During today's game I noticed, the Port are not located in site of the main matchday cameras. It would've been nice if they occupied a bay or even the middle of the stand that faces the main cameras.
Showing their wonderful enthusiastic support would really help get that atmosphere across. What do others think??

I'm guessing they chose where they are as it's a cheaper part of the ground, and was easier to get approved by Stadium management as a Standing Only area.
97th minute winner deserves absolute limbs, all the clips I've seen from the crowd when it goes in look mild as hell
Nah, it was nuts especially down by the Port (who could actually see what was going on). Bit of a weird goal, so those far from the action didn’t know what had happened.
Huge improvement from the last game tbh, relative to the smaller attendance. It’s only going to get better as Port coordination increases and more people are sucked into devoted fandom.
The activity levels of the rest of the crowd, as with many Kiwi sporting events, are a massive WIP. There were many people who seemed clueless as to what had happened, so gave a polite clap without even cracking a smile
Just interjecting here - the port are located away from the main stands on both sides on purpose. Those are family friendly environments and don’t deserve the colourful language that the fans use, which I think is a great respect shown from that lot. What a great game too, crowd went mental when we scored last minute. I would have taken a draw if you asked me before the game.
Really really looking forward to the first ever kiwi teams batting it out together in the A League. Something that definitely should be celebrated together rather than hating each other in my opinion

Typing at the wee hours of the morning right now so forgive any mistakes but the South Stand at Mount Smart has a lot of mana around it especially as a general admission zone. Most of the fellas in the South Stand are people buying cheaper tickets and looking more towards that experience and some of that is undoubtedly lost moving elsewhere. Good work been done getting the rest of the South Stand pumping now we just need to get that energy spilling into the other stands.LG

Seems to be a lot of young guys in the port section, which is understandable when they want to have a party and drop some smoke. Cheaper tickets helps those guys.
Doesn’t appear too many old crusty Brits in there as initially thought.
Was it only me but didn’t a large number of them take of their shirts when AFC scored.
Shirts off with 10 mins to go, likely to be displayed if they are ahead with 10 mins to go in Wellington?

As to "family friendly", there were a *hell* of a lot of kids/families in the standing areas around The Port (inc. where T-AFC were), so they could definitely hear a lot of the naughty language. Not that I think it's a big issue.

I was at the game. I can’t lie there was limbs. Deafening noise around the stadium when both the Sydney goal was disallowed but much more so for their goal.
