Yet we couldnt hear them either from the fever zone depends where your sitting. Plenty of people sit in an aisle close to the zone so they can take part and enjoy the noise. Dont accept at all this rubbish the the zone is either quiet or not hostile to the visiting team during game the game. Personally i think its awesome that over the years visiting fans have joined the YF for drinks before and after the game. If people are unhappy with the sort of noise coming from the zone the simple solution is set yourself up in an aisle and start chanting away and making noise instead of waiting for it all to come from YF.

100% agree on that last point. I've started hanging out in the zone instead of my season ticket seat because it's much more fun joining in, same goes for Porirua Park.
Excuses... excuses... The Nix have had 17 years to get things right, AFC had 7 months...
Yeah thats right the Phoenix have had the perfect set up for 17 years and havnt had any problems to deal with in that time. Yep plenty of excuses just the same as all the excuses for the last 2 failures in Auckland, then again some carry on as if this is the first time Auckland has had a team. Dont see the issues with excuses being given last time i looked this was a forum for Phoenix fans to discus football. Cant wait to see the excuses when things turn to shark because as we all know that can happen to any team at any time in football. Ride it while its good. Yep 7 months and lots of help from the League to make it a smooth start
You are a very bitter individual.
FO Laughable how your often trying to attach a label or abuse me yet know nothing about me just what you make up in your head. There are a large number of your posts that are pretty cringe so when it comes to name calling i guessing they are self reflective.
Just rewatched this video from Copa90 that documented the #savethenix campaign. It's 9 years old now and I just think it's cool to see how we've gone from fighting for our right to have a professional club in this country to now having 2

It really is unbelievable actually. 2007-2010 I resorted to trolling Oz a-league forums pretending to be an aussie in support of the nix. Yuck 🤮. Remember Diego’s Son anyone? The absolute arch enemy of the nix. Thankfully he got ran out of town….And now we’ve got two nz teams. Unreal.

I remember him. Wasnt it however a bit later, as I recall 2007-2010 as being the glory years with good crowds and household names?
That golden age seems a long time ago now. Heck even last season seems a life time ago given the way the Nix are playing.
As a fan of kiwi football am pumped to be AAMI for the Nix game next week, then AFC against the Bitumens and then home to NZ for my first Classico. Going to be an AFC win based on form but I will be proudly wearing my Nix shirt deep in the mix of blue sailors and knights.

Auckland FC have chalked off another milestone following the appointment of Luke Casserly as the club’s inaugural reserve team head coach.
Casserly will lead Auckland’s reserve side in their debut season in the Northern League, while he will also join the Black Knights as an assistant coach to Steve Corica in the Isuzu UTE A-League.
An eight-time Socceroo, he brings a wealth of experience to the newcomers and Isuzu UTE A-League leaders after six years as head of football and then senior men’s head coach at Hills United FC in New South Wales, Australia.
Prior to that, Casserly was head of national performance at Football Australia, working with both the men’s and women’s team during their respective World Cup campaigns.
“I can’t wait to get started. Auckland is a club with so much ambition, such passionate fans and a real desire to have a beneficial impact at all levels of the game,” said Casserly.
“There is also some real talent here that perhaps hasn’t had the chance to shine previously. I’m here to change that.
“Steve and I also go way back, playing and living together aged 17 at Marconi Stallions. We linked up and played together in the Socceroos. It is great to be working with him once again.”
Working closely with A-Leagues head coach Corica, Casserly will ensure an alignment of playing style between the first and reserve team.
This will mean Auckland’s attacking philosophy runs through both teams and players can progress through the Talent Development Pathway.
“Luke is going to become a vital part of the club and support with our ambitions to provide clear player pathways for New Zealand’s best young talent. We’re pleased to have him as part of Auckland FC” said Auckland FC CEO Nick Becker.
“We started with just a men’s team. Built on that success we’re now rolling with our expansion into all areas of the game from grassroots up.
“The Auckland FC reserves team will provide a stepping stone that allows young players a platform to achieve their dreams, right here in Auckland.”

It's irritating BTW that the "Black Knights" branding is gradually being turned up, like a frog's spa bath
It's because "Up de Poort" has been so catchy and people think it refers to the team (because why wouldn't it) and it being its nickname. I've also had Port folk try to tell me it's a catchcry in support of the fans and team. Why do you need to cheer on the fans??? Absolute circle jerk.

Turn that Black Knightz shiz up I say.
Foley's also probably not impressed that everyone's turning up in Sailor hats - must be hard to push a medieval theme when all the fans are intent on going down the maritime route

Auckland went on a big local grass roots charm offensive last winter. Turning up at all the local clubs. Foley used the word community a lot and apparently they did it well when launching a new NHL team in Vegas
But yes he does love the name Black Knights, which is the nickname of sports teams from West Point where he went. It’s his cash, if he wants to push the BK moniker, that’s sort of fair enough. But apart yes from the media using it, seems unlikely to catch on

Auckland is my geographically closest team and them getting home finals would be ideal. The season for the nix is a write off not because of AFC, it's because they are useless. I'll enjoy Aucklands run and hope a NZ team gets silverware.

I know the Port will be even more insufferable if they win the title, but I’m slowly coming round to the point of view that it’s still better for a kiwi team to beat the Aussies.
Yes of course it pains me as a Nix fan, but it’ll be good for NZ football and that’s good for us in the long run.
(That’s me faking being a grown-up about it while I go cry in a corner.)
Maybe only Adelaide (5 pts back) can catch them now.
Youngest player in AFC's starting lineup today was 22 yr old Paulsen. Then they bring 3 AWs off the bench (Randall, Howieson & Elliot). Still have Hall & Vertsraete to come in. Is chalk & cheese compared to the Nix.

They said last night that AFC have the 2nd oldest squad in the A League and were playing against the youngest squad in the A League.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!
Auckland also don't have an absurd ccm team full of European quality pros to contend with. At this point, with confidence at an all time high, I can't see them not winning this year. We need to make peace with that. I just hope the home semi and grandfinals are at Eden park so tickets are easy to get.

Honestly don't sleep on Newcastle. Victory game you could call a fluke but they just beat Adelaide so they might be a problem
(didn't catch the Adelaide game but still, Vic and Adelaide back to back is pretty good)
