Central Coast Mariners - Under APL Management

From the CCM media release...

The next phase of the Central Coast Mariners restructure will also include a fresh look at the operation of youth football that will be made evident in the near future with further statements.

I wonder if this means Stu Jacobs is on the way out or in a stronger position?

Kotahitanga. We are one.

Holy shark... I didn't really expect this. i thought they would clean house one way or another in the post season. Moss really didn't have too much to work with.

Hutch as player-coach... don't know about this.

Plenty of issues with each of the NSW sides (Sydney FC aside...)

Reads more like Hutchinson is an assistant, similarly to what Muscat did at Melbourne when he was playing.

"Stepping in as interim Head Coach for the remainder of the Hyundai A-League 2014/15 campaign will be Central Coast Mariners newly appointed Technical Director, Tony Walmsley.

Stepping into a player/coach role will be Central Coast Mariners club Captain, John Hutchinson who will take on the dual-position until the end of his final campaign as a player."

Greenacre did similar.

Tribulietx should send his CV in, his contacts would be a massive improvement for their visa recruitment.

I would hope that Tribulietx would aim a little higher than CCM (no disrepect to CCM Fans intended). Like Newcastle, their owner and admin problems seem systemic.

I'm not that close to the issues but seems like Charlesworth hasn't really developed the club in recent years.

I see Walmsley is the Tech Director - I'm guessing he didn't want the temporary management gig.

Like for players (Cole, Kosta, Marco, Riera, Hicks, Krishna etc.) I think the step from doing well in the ASBP to a A-League side is a good one and worth taking. Not really sure how much further Tribulietx can aim coming from an (allegedly) semi-pro environment.

I think Trib should take an A-League job, for sure. Just avoid the back office and ownership train wrecks that are Newcastle and CCM at the moment. Thijssen (sp?) must be on shaky ground at Roar. Tribulietx would be a good fit with his style and past playing style of Roar IMHO.

It's more about picking the right opportunity - not just any opportunity that comes along.

Thats true but if he backs himself and his ability to get it done without a team of imports, he should be able to do it at CCM....

I don't think he's in a position to pick and choose professional gigs, and those smaller A-League clubs (Newy, CCM, us) are probably more likely to take a punt on a guy coming from a non-professional background.

Trib should wait until Gombau gets sacked; then he'll have the Spanish players already at his disposal.

Problem is there is more noise at Adelaide so they would not hear him telling them how to play

Stu's position has been disestablished. He's coming back to Wellington to carry on with Kaizen Academy.

For reals?  I thought he did not want it full time and CCM were going to do a world wide search for blah blah blah

Yep, for reals. The classic A-League worldwide search only to find someone at the club to hire.

Yep, for reals. The classic A-League worldwide search only to find someone  cheap to hire.

Fixed, but surprising in someways, given I thought he was adamant he did not want it permanently, but maybe I am getting confused with Thijsen at Roar.

The financial woes of the Central Coast Mariners took an embarrassing turn last week when the entire playing squad was told to pay for their own admission to the club's end of season awards night.

In a sign of the extent of the Mariners penny-pinching culture, the club asked the players to pay $50 per head to attend their own function.

The request was met with immediate dissatisfaction from the playing group - many of whom are out of contract and in the process of negotiating potential extensions or deals elsewhere.

After being told of their complete unwillingness to dip into their own pockets to attend a club event and pay a total of $100 if they wanted to bring their partners, the club confirmed they quickly backed down and decided to cover the players' costs.

Must be pretty crap if its only $50 per head, or are beverages extra?

That's hilarious. Who's coming off contract for them? Can't see why anyone decent would want to stay there.

Found it here: http://www.fourfourtwo.com/au/news/walmsley-wields...

Central Coast players Zac Anderson, Isaka Cernak, Hayden Morton, Richard Vernes, Tom Slater and Dejan Pandurevic are set to be released by the club as the Mariners rebuild their roster for next season.

Anderson, Cernak, Morton and Pandurvic are all off-contract and join Matt Simon, Travis Major and Brent Griffiths to exit the club, with captain John Hutchinson already retired.

Not a lot to get excited about there really. Perhaps Anderson as a replacement for Boxall if he leaves?

Anthony Caceres is one mariner I wouldn't mind us signing.

I thought Cernak did well for them, but he can't come back to us as he is trying to be the first player to play for every single club.

Plenty of talk that he will be rejoining Arnie at Sydney.
