Marius - LOTG states"if the infringement warrants an expulsion, the referee must stop play and send off the player unless there is a subsequent opportunity to score a goal".

Clearly given the ref played advantage, he didn't believe it was a red card offence.  To back this up, it goes on to say "If the offence warrants a caution, it must be issued at the next stoppage".  Note it says caution, not expulsion.

Watching the replay of the Nix game, the ref never picked up on two cautionable offences in the lead up to Daniel's fk, the handball to stop the through ball to Ifill and the tackle on Daniel itself, should both of these been sending off?

When Hibs, went up, to win the Scottish Cup - I wisnae there - furfuxake!

the chances of an immediate, promising attack
 the atmosphere of the match

Point 2 and 3 are relevant.

kewell ARF

any quality EPL player would've either hit that first time or cut inside and shot off the right

kewell was capable of neither

I did raise this point re the handball.  Pretty sure there was noone else close by so Daniel might have had a free run.  Pretty hard to say it was a clear goal scoring opportunity.

Can't remember ,but in general refs are too soft on holding and grabbing fouls and far too keen to penalize handballs that obviously not intentional

I think this might be the first victory game I've watched where the commentators haven't described a sclaffed Kewell shot as, if that had gone in it would've been the best goal in a-league history ever

Yet there are still people (even in this country) who reckon he's the best player in the league.

I despair.
