So with GC having blue and yellow as their colours, does through any doubt into our move to have yellow strip?  That would be 3 outta 10 teams with yellow

Yeah, a mate of mine did them up.

He also did this:

Actual badge:

Badge straightened (and looking MUCH better) compared with Arsenal shield... which also matches the Victory shield:

So if it is fact that GCU are beefing up deals with payments to spouses how are the FFA letting them get away with it? Surely it can't be legit

Palmer a dead ringer for Sir Les Patterson

Permalink Permalink

Though at least Sir Les had the occasional thing that was likable about him.

what's with the comparison to Manchester United? George Best, Charlton and Law? Matt Busby? Giggs, Scholes, Robson and Keane...?

did they tell him the league is a salary capped one? even for an Aussie this guy is a complete tosspot. hope Shane gets out of it sooner rather than later...

Salary caps only apply if the governing body have the spine to enforce them. Hard News2009-04-08 16:29:02

I more and more hope that GCU lose their first five games so that these t**sers have to eat humble pie.

P.S. I don't know what the heck is with these reports that they will be playing in the Birds Nest! There is only one game scheduled for the Birds Nest and it is a Serie A team. GCU either need to confirm it, shut the .... up or some journalists need to do their homework.

In the recent Rich Scumbag daily the appropriately named Palmer said that the skills he had learned in opening doors in business dealings in China were completely transferable to the A-League.

"One thing I like about China" said Palmer " Is that if you are rich enough and know the right people you don't have to follow the rules"

He went on to say he hoped to get better returns from his Queensland football team than he did from his Queensland political party who were still in opposition and with the same players despite a decade of trying to get a score on the board.

Very true statement. Just hope the FFA will have enough backbone to ensure GCU follow the rules, we've already had mutterings of jobs for spouses.

Yeah, jobs for spouses, that's scandalous.

Hang on, wasn't Lei Lei Gao's missus often seen lurking around the club store?

Pot, kettle?

I just hope they come last. I'm going to jinks them with all my powers. Today a kid was doing crazy stuff with his bycicle on the waterfront and I jokingly quipped: " wouldn't it be funny if he fell off his bike?!". As soon as I stopped saying that he fell off it (didn't hurt himself at all but he looked quite embarassed.

let's hope that my powers will affect GCU. Palmer go back to your mines!

The current whining by Miron about the opening match being 'moved' to Suncorp is rediculous.

When did god proclaim that the opening match was GCU's by right?

What pisses me off is that he's in the media again breaking an FFA embargo, but it will be ignored.  Needs Matt Carroll back, they wouldn't get away with half the crap they have pulled under him.

I would give anything, ANYTHING to see these guys finish last, and get thrashed by Queensland (and us). Worst. Team. Ever.

Is the Gold COast - Fulham game going to be on tv? Iraq goals maybe?

Botafogo - Rio de Janeiro and Wellington Phoenix, my two teams til death do us part.

There were rumours in Aus it might be televised but I don't think I'vve seen anything confirmed.

Talk is ticket sales for both the Fulham and the Celtic matches are embarassingly poor.

Celtic game was being plugged pretty hard at Suncorp during the Warriors on Friday, saw no mention of GCU anywhere around the Gold Coast and as a bandwagon jumper that disappoints me immensely

Melbourne should have played them instead of Fulham.

So much fail about the whole thing.

Agreed. I'm going to the Fulham game, just because it's live football, but am not excited whatsoever
