Celeski out until round 4 after having minor surgery. Kantarovski has had another knee op (4th in 4 yrs). They have no holding midfielder fit atm, Regan & Pepper set to start in the midfield.

Dundee UNITED (my rrrrrivals) have a good youth setup these days so likely they are just looking at oppourtunities around that, not to buy Newcastle Jets.

Dundee United should put their money into competing with Celtic if they have a bit of spare cash.

Had a discussion with a mate who works in the media in Australia about the Jest when I was home at christmas and his thoughts were that the FFA missed their opportunity to take back the licence at the end of November. His theory being this would not have caused as much negative publicity and embarrassment during the Asian Cup.

Looks like his thoery was pretty accurate

The Jets have good support in Newcastle. I'm sure they will rise again - one of the ten teams has to be last and this season it is them.

For those too lazy...

STRUGGLING A-League club Newcastle Jets are in more turmoil with players at the club believed set to hold a private meeting today.

The Australian understands a number of players have lost patience with coach Phil Stubbins and are prepared to take their issues to the club.

It comes in the wake of the embarrassing 7-0 loss to Adelaide United on Friday night.

The Jets have had a horrific season on and off the field.

They are second from the bottom of the table with just one win in 15 games and have little hope of making the finals even though there are still 12 rounds left.

Stubbins, an A-League coach in waiting for a number of seasons, finally got his chance when appointed to the Jets role at the start ofthe season. But it has been a tough initiation for him.

The team’s poor form and the fact that the club has released a number of players mid-season has turned the pressure back on him.

It has been just as disastrous off the field with chairman Ray Baartz and CEO Robbie Middleby resigning recently.

All this has been played out amid a backdrop of concern over the ownership of the club.

The Jets are owned by the controversial Nathan Tinkler, who admitted last year that he could not wait to get rid of the club.

However, he did a backflip recently, saying he didn’t want to sell the club and that he is determined to get it out of the doldrums.

Scottish club Dundee United are believed to be interested in buying the club, but not for the believed asking price of $5million.

What do you reckon is worth more: Newcastle Jets or Nathan Burns? Lol.

Jets own nothing but the players contracts, with only 10 on contract next year atm. Tinkler won't get anything close to 5m for the club.

I do feel a bit for Stubbins. Gets his shot and the back office management is in totaly disarray. Also hard to blame the coach when the team get pumped 7-0. Thats the players to answer for and at the moment, do they have any players?

Feel for the club and fans. You can say what you want about Terry but at least he kept the boat steady throughout his turmoil's, and I'm glad the FFA were as swift as they were in changing ownership with us.

I wonder if that was because Welnix was waiting in the wings whereas Newcastle they might not other options..
