We could do worse than make an offer for Pennington's contract.

According to reliable sources Wrexham play in the Serie A - what have AC Milan ever done?

It's cool they're playing it at the rectangular HBF Park instead of the oval Optus Stadium

Vanuatu national men's football team captain Brian Kaltak has signed a multi-year deal with Perth Glory, the A-League club has confirmed.

[…]

And as he makes his move to his new club, Kaltak has also announced that he is ready to launch a football academy at home in Vanuatu.

The project is set to launch in July, with the Australian government stepping in to partner with Kaltak with funding.

Potentially good news for OFC in the long term if the academy takes off and benefits from the Perth link?

Perth Glory announce departure of David Zdrilic

Perth Glory have relieved David Zdrilic of his duties as head coach of the club’s Isuzu UTE A-League side, effective immediately.

Zdrilic departs the club two games into his second season as Glory head coach, following a 4-0 loss to reigning Isuzu UTE A-League Champions Melbourne City in Round 2.

Glory drew 2-2 with Wellington in Round 1 and, with one point on the board, sit bottom of the table heading into the third weekend of the season, and a Friday-night clash with Melbourne Victory at HBF Park.

Zdrilic’s Glory finished bottom of the table in 2024-25, after collecting just 17 points from 26 games (four wins, five draws, 17 losses) and conceding a league-high 56 goals.
Members of the existing support staff will take charge of Glory’s Round 3 meeting with Victory, with the announcement of a new head coach appointment to be made in due course.

If the Nix had started the season as dire as Perth, there would be an out pouring on here saying sack Chiefy. That 2-2 draw in game 1 was misleading, Perth were very ordinary, with only about 35% possession and having home advantage. The Nix clumsy high line gifted them the 2 goals. Then they get smacked 4-0 by Melb City.

At least with the Nix and Chiefy we can see a tactical change from last season and some green shoots of promise.

With Perth and Zdrilic it just looked like being the same crap all over again, even with their new signings.

It wouldn’t surprise if the Glory board actually used the early evident improvement at the Nix as a barometer for Zdrilic, ie Welly look a better side this season why don’t we?

Unfortunately Zdrilic was unable to do very much with really good players.
If we had even one half (the good half) of the Glory team, we would be winning the league with Chiefy's new tactics.

No one is getting sacked over friendly results ffs.

Three for me, and two for them.

Yipe but they form part of a wider picture that there seems zero improvement under Zdrilic from last season's wooden spoon finish.

If the Nix had gone through pre season losing every match, except say beating Olympic, and then been heavily out played in their first two ALM games - the drums would already be beating for Chiefy's head.

Well, some of us were asking for Chiefy's head at the end of the first half of our Perth game.

Asked Ben & he said Sutts is back training but unlikely to face Sydney. Maybe the game after that.

Good news all round. Very happy for AG. He really does seem to have put some backbone into this Perth side. Hope they can maintain it (except against us obviously).

Congratulations to him. He's done a great job as interim coach, taking Perth off the bottom of the ladder, earned the promotion.

As an ex-Nix, hopefully Griffiths can lead Perth + Sutton, Wootton, and Pennington to cause some misery against Auckland for us. :)
