Active in signing average players that run around a lot, it seems.
They say that like someone has accused them of giving up.
Grumpy old bastard alert
Glory name and shame the flare flower from their game, naturally people don't agree with this decision

Good on the Glory. About time somebody put a stop to the RBB setting off flares.
Yellow Fever - Misery loves company
Got the impression it was a Perth fan from the above.
But a WSW fan makes a lot more sense. And makes it a lot funnier.

I feel sorry for Hersi, whilst I find his diving annoying he does brings a spark to the game and is always a threat. To me he is an entertainer, if even, an annoying one.
The Ruf, The Ruf, The Ruf is on Fire!!
Apparently Thwaite was an Australian marquee, and Marinkovic an international marquee at the start of the season. Pretty creative "interpretations" to get around the cap...
We should appeal and see if we can get the points back for round 1.
Wait isnt Keogh international Marquee?
why even have a salary cap if you're going to let teams have random marquees to avoid breaching it?

More on the cap breaching.
This article confuses me. I think I need help.
The way I read it is that there are irregularities there. Some have been disclosed as part of normal reporting but not included in the cap and some have not been disclosed and not included in the cap.... and the FFA have no concerns?

It was fairly complicated.
I think the cap counts over the last 12months at any given time. Perth recruited at different times during the offseason. The FFA evaluate the cap quarterly and discovered they accidentally put themselves over the cap for the first 2 games, the FFA not wanting them to suffer for a clerical error let them move 2 players into marquee positions.
Personally I think if they weren't monitoring their own situation well enough then they should be punished regardless of whether it was a malicious breach or an innocent one. Bending the rules for them sets a terrible precedent going forward, and makes it seem like you may as well not bother having a salary cap at all.

Surely though you'd think that game 1 would be one of those set times through the year that the ffa would do a spot check?
My understanding is that Perth did not breach the cap. If Perth continued to pay its players that much over the whole season then they would breach the cap. Therefore Perth rejigged their contracts so that they would not breach the cap.
I don't think there should be a rule that you have to be a super player to be a marquee. If you want to make a player a marquee you should be able to even if that player does not meet what most would call marquee status. The Wanderers have done this with Spiranovic; Adelaide have done it with Galekovic.

Both Australian reps.
Thwaite has played more times for his country than Galekovic.
I wouldn't want a ruling body telling a team a player isn't good enough to be signed. That's part of the skill of a football manager.
FFA are going to look into it, be interesting to see if anything comes from it

Next time you go to FFA headquarters look out for a rather large bump in the carpet
This could be interesting. Id wonder if they would go so far as the NRL and strip a club of all its points if found guilty.

That was for a total rort of the cap though right? iirc there have been lesser instances of cap breaches for which there has been a smaller punishment (I think the warriors got docked 4 points one year). But that just means there's precedent in the NRL regardless.
This just keeps getting better!
"Notably, former player Ryo Nagai is declared as having lived at the club office for two seasons. The documents list Nagai's address from 2012 to 2014 as being 18 Oxford Close, West Leederville - the Perth Glory offices - with sources close to the club alleging Nagai actually lived in an apartment owned by somebody affiliated with the club."
So Perth have been breaching the cap the last few years but have still been completely crap?
