Whats up at Nix HQ? How about some info on the preseason games. Who is playing, subs, score etc. Its actually really basic communication. You go on any other AL club sites and theres lots of preseason game news, vids etc

Anyone else watching the Roar vs SI game? The game was stopped around the 25th minute mark because the stadium lights went out. Only resumed about 15 minutes ago.

SI have had plenty of entries into the attacking third and are doing well to frustrate. Brisbane have had the best chances and more posession but are not looking very threatening overall, just a friendly of course.

McGarry and I think Salas are starting.

And just as I write this SI score from a corner and open the scoring.

Finishes 1-1

Brisbane defender got a late red for a pull-back preventing a potential goalscoring opportunity.

To be fair, absolutely zero info on any of the WSW socials I can see either, with a quick look. Did the warmup game even happen?

Details held so tightly, even the players didn’t know where or when it was on 🙂
(Yes suspect it has been rescheduled)

I know, I know, its serious!

Suspected as much given I saw Rufer at the Sunday markets today.

It would make more sense to play WSW about this Thursday, CCM on the Sunday and then fly onto Perth for the ALM opener against the Glory Sat Oct 18th.

The guys away with NZ U20s then being available for both warmup games in NSW.

Very disappointing if it's been canned and fans not told.

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

Not sure where people have seen that we were playing WSW this week.
Didnt they say they were going to Sydney a week early for a couple of games then onto Perth. Any wonder they dont post about pre season games some of which im sure were being played behind closed doors. Whatever the result they cop flack from some people.

Don’t understand what you are trying to say there buddy or you are just as usual trying to defend the inexcusable.

Fans of clubs throughout the world are interested to know who they are playing in preseason, the results and heaven forbid even the line ups.

Even more so when you have the longest off season in football.

Auckland will rise once more

Expectation set! So reasonable that the Nix would provide some sort of update on what has transpired. Poor show (and I generally give them a fair amount of slack - but don't get me started on how well they have maintained the squad page!)

I know, I know, its serious!

don't worry, we're just as bad as AFC in not saying anything about preseason games.

The friendly against CCM on Sunday next week will be open for fans as part of their Open Day

I wonder what time our preseason game is today, against WSW?

Ended 1-1, according to @WestSydney, Kreav scorong for them

Maybe this phantom game only happened on AI.
Having a look around AL club sites some clubs are excellent in communicating preseason stuff. Others less so. As a fan i find it a bit insulting that a club cant be bothered spending 30 seconds posting the team, result and goal scorers. Its called fan engagement. Later on they then bitch about low crowd numbers.....

Maybe it’s Schrödinger’s Football Game - until someone manages to observe the result all outcomes are equally possible, so we’ve simultaneously won and lost and not turned up at all.

Hm.... and Dome both is, and is not, a great GM....

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Is it just me or is the buildup to the start of this season seem really subdued. I know last season wasnt great but normally you kind of get over it and build your excitement when the new season approaches. This time it all feels a bit flat.
Maybe i just need to adjust my medication!

maybe the club is trying a low key approach t the season, build up the mystery that way rather than hype the expectation and angst like last year?

Queenslander 3x a year.

Great new marketing strategy

I can't see anything on WSW's socials about this match, and they hosted it.

Seems some clubs like Sydney, Mariners & the Roar are quite good at covering friendlies (if it's just all about how their team performs), and others through either indifference or some attempt at secret squirrel stuff - provide next to nothing.
07 Oct 06:19
Some are behind closed doors and some are more open. We dont know what the teams were doing or trying.
07 Oct 13:10
Surprising lack of promotion coming into the season. And for such a long pre-season.

07 Oct 14:14
Maybe its a cunning plan to lower expectations. Hopefully it doesnt backfire with low crowd numbers. I expect they will crank things up as the first home game approaches. Its a double header with the womens team....correct??????

Not quite, the men’s first home game is Brisbane on October 26th then the double-header on November 8th is the women’s first game after their Round 1 bye.

Rufer was on the news last night talking about the season ahead. Clearly trying to be optimistic!
