English striker they signed from the NPL. He has a fantastic goal scoring record, so a lot of football media was happy to see him get a chance. Obviously didn't impress Popa cuz he kept playing his 16 year old son instead.

Double nepotism as he's playing two of his kids! Shocking if you ask me. Even if they have the goods, there will always be the question mark hanging over their heads so why not make your own way without relying on your dad?

No worse then the Fergies or Cloughs

Totally agree. Has always amazed me that the club allowed this, especially given the dust up over ex-Glory coach Alistair Edwards doing the same thing, for which he 'lost the dressing room' as they say. It really is a conflict of interest and if I were a Glory supporter I would be very uncomfortable with it.

Difference is that Nigel Clough was a bloody good player!

There's no way Clough senior would play his son other than he was good enough.

it is a risky thing to do, especially if they werent at the club before you took over as manager. I can't recall how/when his kids joined Glory.

Queenslander 3x a year.

A quick Wikipedia searched confirmed the following:

17 yo Gabriel was with WSW yoof between 2016-18, then had a loan spell with, Perth Glory NPL (4 goals in 17 games).
His brother Christian (19) did pretty much the same. He was also capped for Australia U20 four times.

Tony was coaching WSW  between 2012 and 2017 so he may have helped them get a foot in the door.
Probably fair to say both kids were kept on the roster for a year after dad left the team but still I can see why some would hit be too happy.

Jeez that's a shark bunch of players off-contract. I'd be happy if we tried to re-sign all of our boys off contract, although wouldn't be fussed to lose walter scott but given that he is our one left back atm it makes sense to bring him back another year in case. Looking around the rest of the league it's pretty slim pickings though, far out. Meredith from Perth would be a decent shout, but dunno if he would come here.

Edit: Obviously I'd love to get ALF, but obviously that won't happen.

Annual finals disappointment enthusiast.

A shadow of the player that left Melbourne all those years ago. Tactics might not have suited him, he is 30 now and coming off an ACL iirc. Not really a Libby replacement if that is what you were thinking

Messie has enforced a contract clause that allows him to leave Barca for nothing. Must've been that 8-2 drubbing.

Could he be Phoenix bound? He doesn't need the money so would do it for the love of playing. Imagine that for two or three seasons?? ;)

He told a Croatian webby he would like to head there before he retires, so I wouldn't be surprised if this was the last we have seen of him.
