Strange signing from City. If you told me they were going after an Eredivisie attacking midfielder, I wouldn't have thought it would be someone as low profile as van der Venne. In the 2020/21 season he was Waalwijk's starting 10, during a season where they really struggled to score and create chances. Started less than half the games this season with no injuries in a Waalwijk side that was surprisingly competent at scoring. 30 years old, only a few years at the top level in Holland... Super odd to me considering the financial might of CFG.
Annual finals disappointment enthusiast.

I see there have been strong rumours of Fabregas being in talks with an a-league team. I'd have thought city would have the budget for it but regardless of where he goes, would be a huge coup.

Bit gutted about Austin and Izzo if i'm honest, would have loved both at the club.

I imagine he got quite a good deal for such a young player... looks a real player and by all accounts, there were multiple big teams sniffing around him.

Wouldn't be surprised if he plays only 1 year of his 2 year contract and then CCM cash in on him.

Buhagiar and Sotirio, Jets are going to be deadly on the counter with that pace

Some of the salary caps are a joke I’d say! That’s a less generous summary of what Uffie said when Piscopo and Sotirio went to the Jets, right?

There are so many holes in the cap now, its basically worthless. In saying that, I don't see the Jets spending much above it even with the exemptions available.

What Uffie said is he can't build a competitive squadiif we competed with what the Jets paid.

We hopefully have different ambitions though, Jets are very much rebuilding and trying to make themselves attractive to a buyer, Ufuk wants the championship.

Gutted the Nix didn't go after Charlie Austin. He's got 2-3 years left in him at A League level.

And after you’d put together a decent scouting report and all! He’d probably be priced out for us tbf if there were 3 clubs at least in for his signature. But yeah, he’s a goal scorer for sure. Still we’ve got at least a couple of goal scorers. Good start.
