Definitely goes against their model, they'll be hurting at losing him and getting nothing for him.
Sure playing in Asia also comes with expenses, but the Mariners will be okay financially. Some other clubs we wait and see.
Where CCM may struggle is juggling midweek AFC CL games (pool stage Sept to Feb next year) with ALM matches.
The AFC CL teams (Japan, Sth Korea, China) will be several levels above the mostly AFC Cup minnows they played last season on their way to winning that comp.
He came on heaps in the last 24 months. Prior to that, I thought he was lucky to have a gig.
