The club also said farewell to Diogo Ferreira, Hagi Gligor, Hungarian duo Gyorgy Sandor and Krisztian Vadocz and paid tribute to Hyundai A-League veteran Ruben Zadkovich.

After a total of 151 domestic league matches spanning the past decade at Sydney FC, Newcastle Jets and Perth Glory FC, a career ending knee-injury has forced Zadkovich to retire from the beautiful game.

If that's what it takes to get WSW to the Grand Final year in year out, he has my vote as their coach.

Strangely enough, the same does not work for me for the Nix. I would rather have a solid established WPX squad that performs well (I am modest and say - the team gets into final top four) but does not get into GF, than have a WPX team full of newcomers every year that get to GF every year.

Says something about the need to relate to the team? I know it probably sounds woolly, and I am sure your mileage may vary. However, having guys like Siggy, on the park (with all their shortcomings) year in year out was part of that relating (and not just because Siggy is ChCh born).

Zullo attracting interest from the Glory and Sydney

Caceres to remain at City despite any 'Caceres rule'

Gonna be interesting to see if they will play him at LB or LW.

With Gersbach gone and Abbas also rumoured to be gone (or has gone) could be signed primarily as a LB. Have a few attacking players that can play in wide positions already.

WTF with Perth, how can they sign all these players and not be over their salary cap? Are they paying the players sisters for karioki or something?

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Castro hasn't re-signed, so they have a marquee slot free to use. They have got rid of Zadkovich & Sandor's wages and replaced them with Herd & Williams. Its also been suggested that Williams took a big drop in pay to come home. Atm they look to have a top heavy squad, so are taking a huge risk on Williams and Herd's injury history.

Abbas has signed for Pohang. Sydney need a left back but dunno if he will be defensive enough for Arnies liking. Still he is a good pick up for them.

Gotta admire Tony P for at least asking City if they would release Fornaroli so Sydney could sign him

We once signed a former Fulham midfielder and look where he ended up?  Inside.

We signed a couple, both with more appearances than him. Not sure what to expect from this guy, Finland isn't exactly a high level but some good A-League players have come from low levels. Only time will tell.

Any of those likely/able to break contract? I'm sure first team football at another club is a major carrot
