I wonder if it's actually us he's linked with. He's ex-Stuttgart so Marco might have had a word to him about our great training facilities

I did have that thought, he played with MDP previously and we have the Kosta/Gui links to him. But he is 30 and Ernie said we were signing someone in their 20's

Guessing if this guy signs, it means DeVere could be as crocked as they say. They have North, Bowles, DeVere & Rowles on their books currently.

Maybe Ernie was using a bit of misdirection. 30 isn't too old though, unless he's started to have injury problems he'd have a few years left in the tank yet

Thomas

Geria Baro Ansell Georgievski

Valeri Bozanic

FBK Troisi Austin

Berisha

Decent line up, the defence is probably their weakest area currently. Two visas left, guessing they might go for defensive cover & a wide forward.

They have two (TWO!!!) visas. That's not even fair! Well... it is. But it still isn't.

It’s understood Adelaide has cast its eyes up Spanish winger/striker Aaron Niguez, 27, Senegalese-born winger/striker Mohamed Coullibaly, 27, and Paraguayan international striker Pablo Zeballos, 30.

Why the two years for Cahill if it's only a 1-year guest spot?

Wonder if they are sending someone the other way or will just pay a bit extra on the next City purchase of a CCM player.

TIM Cahill will on Wednesday be confirmed as Melbourne City’s prized new recruit in the biggest ever domestic deal involving an Australian player.

Cahill is not due in Melbourne until the weekend but as the Herald Sun’s exclusive photos reveal, he’s passed a medical in recent days at the training headquarters of brother club New York City.

8 Million. Wow! They should definitely should stop pretending it is a salary cap league.

"will morph into coaching and/or ambassadorial role with the City Football Group once his playing career is over"

Will be interesting how this whole thing will play at the end, but that does not read like a real plan, more like give me the money now, we will see what happens later.

I don't think he is travelling to NZ for the first round, Socceroos commitments most likely. Will have to wait until Feb - if he travels.

Although I think it's unlikely I really hope this is Kewell 2.0.

If he is a dud all that hype the league is betting on will fall away quickly, if he plays well then the league will just look like, to your eurosnobs, a place for almost 40yr olds who can't get a gig elsewhere

lose/lose?

I just want it to be a failure for the FFA one way or another tbh. They are bending the rules all too often around the salary cap and it's become a joke.

Apparently another team in Perth playing in the same stadium as the Glory would attract 12000-14000 new fans.

Where the fudge do they come up with these numbers? Glory only averaged 9000 at their home games last year
