Nope, he isn't off contract. Maybe the interest has died since they picked up DIngham, I dunno but they were looking at Atkinson as a wide forward rather than RWB. I haven't seen any reports to put an end to the rumour apart from Atkinson is training with City atm.

Messaged Joey Lynch, he is a Melbourne based Journo and he reckons it wont happen and wonders if it ever had any legs. So gonna drop it from the list.

Sounds like he is off to Turkey instead

Not happening now

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT |
Launched for the Australian footballer Luke Brattain our club transfer process has continued with the introduction of the players regarding the disposal of Turkey as an official signature.
The transfer process, which was agreed in all contractual conditions, was negatively concluded for Luke Brattan's family reasons.

^^ Take with a punch of salt, I have no idea if they are reliable

An unnamed Dutchman, who can play as a LB and CDM has arrived in Adelaide for their medical on Tuesday. He has been coached by Gertjan Verbeek previously in the Netherlands[@robgreenwood1]

Giliano Wijnaldum & Donny Gorter are a couple of guys that meet that criteria.

A Curacao international?

Does anyone else feel the general quality of most of the imports recruited this off-season have been (on paper at least) much less impressive than in the last few seasons?

I think that with a few notable exceptions - usually down to their profile - last year was a lot more disappointing, especially when you consider the players who were classified as marquees

With the exception of Honda, 95% of the other marquees were largely anonymous (Bautheac showed glimpses throughout the season)

There is no such thing as marquees anymore, they are referred to as Designated Players by the FFA. You get to designate up to 2 players to be outside the cap, so its basically a salary cap rort nowadays. There is no criteria for the spots.

Yep. Not a very impressive CV but has a decent youtube highlights video. Last played for a USL club.

Western United set to sign36 year old midfielder Alessandro Diamanti. The name should sound familiar, he was the bloke the FFA denied the Victory the use of the 'Cahill Guest Stint' for.

Gosh I can't stand him. Such a pompous arse. Thinks he's Maradona and even had the audacity to patronise Totti back in the day for getting paid well for staying with Roma (where he could have earned lots more and won titles at Real Madrid...).

Tricky player a few years ago but often unfit to play so I don't think he'll do well here.

Hyundai A-League Champions Sydney FC has boosted its squad for the 2019-20 season with signing of two talented young players.

22-year old centre-half Patrick Flottmann returns to the club after a season spent playing in Thailand.

Midfielder Chris Zuvela has re-signed for two more seasons after missing most of last year’s Championship winning campaign with an ACL knee injury.
