Tommy Semmy training with Newcastle. Says they’ve got two other Visa players signed already, would gues one of them might be Kaltak
What makes you think that? Jets have a ton of defenders already.

eh... Elsey and Jurman are borderline starters in this league, rest is completely up in the air. Gotta guess they'll be playing 3ATB again. Kaltak's had solid interest from the A-League for some time, and if the Jets are already signing a NZ-based Pacific Islander, another one is a possibility

Wasn't ever gonna be a club with money to spend. I'd love to see them get a chance, but not sold either of them have the quality to perform to the standard expected from an import in the A-League.

Couple years back I was convinced Semmy would easily develop into a tank at A-League level, but now I'm not so sure. Still keeps himself in unbelievable physical shape, but seems to have stagnated a little on the field

Yeah - both probably had the raw talent to make it, but needed time in the pro environment in order to reach that potential. I think Kaltak would be better than Semmy, but not sure he gets in ahead of the mountains of CBs at Newcastle currently.

Never got around to listening to this but sounds like the Jets (or maybe just Rallis) do have eyes on the OFC. Kinda just assumed it meant they would put their name in the hat for Raphael Lea'i tbh.

Actually, that'd make a whole lot of sense. Turns 18 on September 9, so makes sense holding off the announcement until then. And my god, is he 'exciting'

Why did he leave the Weenix Academy/Scots College?

Neither him or the other kid showed up for the second year, they had everything paid for. Don't think there was ever an official answer.

Shame. Presumably they found the shopping up to scratch, but maybe coming from Honiara the Welly weather a little less to their liking.

Sounds like the glory are signing Brad Jones. So a 39 year old Reddy will be sitting on the bench behind a 39 year old Jones. What a strange time we live in

Both keepers will turn 40 this coming season as well. Adding in any youth 3rd string keeper, that could be over 100 years of goalie in one side!

Sounds like the Devlin deal is all but done. Hearts manager came out talking about him today. Good stuff for cammy! (And us)

We will get very little compensation as he is no longer ours. A shame.

But a great move for him.

Anything is better than nothing & depending on when the registration windows are (no info on the FIFA webby for 21/22 A-League atm), he may not have even been registered by the Jets yet.

This doesn't feel right to me, he has signed Senior deals at two previous clubs but City have put him on Scholarship deals for Salary Cap purposes

Too good now for CCM, so yipe hope he heads north.

Also highly unlikely AWs will be able to call on any A League players until 2022, so be handy to have fringe guys like him in Europe if the AWs get some games later this year, plus that mooted Jan 2022 OFC tourney.

Personally, I hope he holds out for a decent gig Sweden, France, England, Germany etc. I think he's going to be too good for Viking.

The goal is to get eyes on you, in a league that is a known quality. If he does well there, teams will be more likely to splash the cash on him.
