WSW forced him out & now they are bringing him back? Guess his agent looking for overseas moves on LinkedIn didn't attract any offers in the end.

Socceroos defender Milos Degenek is being chased by Western Sydney Wanderers and Melbourne Victory, while boom Macarthur FC youngster Ariath Piol is wanted by clubs in France, Switzerland and the US.

With the transfer window opening on Thursday, A-League clubs are bidding for the services of a host of players and are also set to profit from the sale of some in-demand talent.

Macarthur is understood to have received an offer of 500,000 euros ($A831,462) from French second division club Troyes for the services of 20-year-old attacker Piol, who has impressed for the Bulls this season.

Also in pursuit of Piol is Swiss Super League club St. Gallen, while there is also a US Major League Soccer club also interested in signing the versatile forward.

Meanwhile, Degenek, 30, is a free agent after parting ways with Serbian club Red Star Belgrade

While it’s understood that Degenek’s preference is to remain in Europe, his need to play regular football to remain in the plans of Socceroos coach Tony Popovic could result in him joining an A-League club.

Set to farewell another Socceroos defender in Jason Geria, who has signed with Japanese top-flight club Albirex Niigata, the Victory is keen to bolster its backline stocks by snaring Degenek.

The Wanderers also want Degenek and have also shown an interest in Socceroos centre-back Thomas Deng, who has left Albirex Niigata.

However, Deng is expected to join Japanese second division club Júbilo Iwata, which is coached by Australian John Hutchinson.

Elsewhere, a host of new faces are set to join the struggling Perth Glory.

They include Japanese defenders Yuto Misao and Takuya Okamoto, former Central Coast, Melbourne City and Western United attacking weapon Lachie Wales – whose most recent club was South Korean second division side Gyeongnam – and striker Pat Wood, who is set to join the Glory on loan from Sydney FC.

Sydney is still on the hunt for a central defender but has also been linked to former Wanderers, Wellington and Newcastle forward Jaushua Sotirio, who has departed Indian Super League club Kerala Blasters.

Cellar dwellers Brisbane Roar will be strengthened by the return of attacking midfielder Henry Hore, whose loan spell with South Korean club Gangwon has come to an end.

However, talented teenage striker Thomas Waddingham will leave the Roar for a transfer fee, with English Championship clubs QPR and Portsmouth bidding for his services.

Socceroos defender Kye Rowles is leaving Scotland for a stint in America’s Major League Soccer competition, where he is set to go head-to-head with boom Macarthur FC youngster Ariath Piol.

After a 2½-year spell with Scottish Premiership club Hearts, Rowles, 26, is joining DC United.

Rowles, who has made 103 appearances in all competitions for Hearts, was an unused substitute for the Jambos in their 0-0 draw at Aberdeen on Monday morning (AEDT).

After the match, Hearts manager Neil Critchley said he expected the transfer, worth a reported 600,000 pounds ($A1.18m), to be completed within “48 hours”.

“We don’t want to lose our best players, but also we understand that it’s something that he might want to pursue and it could be a good deal for the club as well,” Critchley said.

Set to join Rowles in the US is 20-year-old Bulls attacker Piol.

NewsWire revealed last week that Piol was wanted by French club Troyes, Swiss outfit St Gallen and an MLS team.

That MLS side can now be confirmed as Real Salt Lake, who have won the battle to sign Piol in a deal worth more to Macarthur than the 500,000 euros ($A828,565) offered by Troyes.

Piol is close to finalising personal terms with Real Salt Lake, whose 2024 squad included former Adelaide United and Western Sydney Wanderers winger Lachlan Brook.

Elsewhere, defender Alex Popovic’s future remains uncertain beyond this month’s completion of his loan deal to Sydney FC from South Korean club Gwangju.

It’s understood Sydney is keen to keep Popovic but a new agreement is yet to be settled upon.

Meanwhile, former Sky Blues goalkeeper Thomas Heward-Belle, who lost his spot in Western United’s top team due to the form of Matt Sutton, is wanted by two clubs in Asia.

It’s also believed that Perth Glory want to sign attacking midfielder Christian Theoharous from the Central Coast Mariners.

With the transfer window opening on Thursday, the battling Glory is set to confirm the signings of Japanese defenders Yuto Misao and Takuya Okamoto and former Central Coast, Melbourne City and Western United attacking weapon Lachie Wales, while striker Pat Wood is also set to join Perth on loan from Sydney FC.

Cellars dwellers Brisbane Roar are interested in the services of Western United striker Michael Ruhs as they bid to fill the void left by teenage attacker Thomas Waddingham, who has signed with English Championship club Portsmouth for a fee understood to be about 200,000 pounds ($A394,500).

He looked very good pre-season but obviously couldn't settle being so far from home. Someone in NSW is gonna pick decent prospect.
