Burgess a possible return to the Nix?

Knows the club, and I think knows Italiano, when they were both around Sydney FC youth teams.

I honestly expected him to thrive under Uffie but he was pushed aside. Was rumors CCM were interested but they are in a hiring freeze ATM.

Assuming we pick up Chico, I dunno if he would start?

As per Ballane, Chico is sadly returning to Portugal. A real bummer.
Hopefully any new visa 10, arrives well before the season starts.

I think you want both a visa AM, and a quality local player who can slip in there as well. Otherwise you have that visa 10 out injured (aka Rojas or Geraldes) with no backup, and it's football mud like this season was.

Burgess, De Jong, even a punt on Kiwi Seth Clark out of the NSW NPL - whoever. Need AM x2.

Pleased with the Milanovic transfer, hopefully he’s able to make the step up. Certainly fits the system our manager likes to play.

January signing Jaushua Sotirio also leaves the Sky Blues after joining the squad in the second half of the 2024/25 campaign.
The trio follow Polish striker Patryk Klimala and legendary goalkeeper Andrew Redmayne, who had earlier confirmed their departures from the Sky Blues.
The Sky Blues remain in talks regarding new deals with the club’s other out of contract players and will release details once confirmed.

Any inkling of where Burgess is off to? Would be a handy pickup for a number of ALM clubs.

Perth Glory director of football Stan Lazaridis is supremely confident in re-signing Luke Amos after the English midfielder’s impressive short-term stint.

Lazardis also confirmed their interest in Sydney FC winger Joe Lolley, but vowed it would not come at the expense of club captain Adam Taggart amid the Sky Blues reportedly being interested in a swap deal.

The arrival of Wellington Phoenix defenders Scott Wootton and Sam Sutton is anticipated to be announced in the coming weeks, while The West understands Lachie Wales and Trent Ostler are expected to re-sign with Perth.

However, it appears Glory have missed out on young Sydney forward Jaiden Kucharski, with Western United understood to be leading the race for his signature.

With English centre-back Wootton and left-back Sutton set to occupy two of the club’s five visa spots for next season, Perth fans are hopeful they will be joined by Amos.

Code Sport also reported Perth could also be interested in signing former Glory star Bruno Fornaroli, although it is doubtful the 37 year-old would be the best fit for Zdrilic’s high-pressing system.

“I’m a big fan of Bruno, since he’s come to the A-League. He spent a bit of number of years here, the Glory fans like him, I think he’s got a house here,” Lazaridis said.

“I would say the only way Bruno would work for us is in an impact role; he would start some games but his role would be very different, he would have to embrace that and I’m sure he would.

“The likelihood is it’s probably very unlikely, but it’s worth a discussion.”

Burgess as a marquee?!

As in a well known player from another club, not as in the money kinda ways I would assume.

Is Patrick Wood any good? Only 22 but nearly 90 games in the ALM.

Might have crossed paths back in the day when Chiefy was a youth coach at Sydney.

marquee means something specific in this league, but agree can't see him being a marquee but a priority target.

Was a loan from Sydney, he has 1 more season on his deal.

I rate him but he needs to go somewhere he can start. Wasting away on Sydney's bench.

According to @BenSmith94:

"He wasn't on the initial release, but Hiroaki Aoyama will also not be returning."

A few seasons ago Jelacic was very decent at Perth and made the Aussie U23s. Didn't work out for him in Europe or the Roar.

It is the end of his loan deal. Think he has 1 more season on his overseas deal, so make or break season ahead of him

Ah, okay. So another loan deal somewhere.

Hard to see him being good enough to be around the Gent first team next season. They finished 6th in the just completed Belgian League
