David Williams to the Jets now?
Dean Bouzanis to City?
Glory to release Guyon Fernandez?

In re-signing news, Connor Chapman, Paulo Retre, Jacob Melling and Jack Clisby have committed to Melbourne City for at least the next two-and-a-half years.

I find this utterly strange. Everyone speaks about all his talent & promise but he is 23 now and can't even command a starting role in the last placed team. People have suggested Man City will buy & loan back to Melbourne City next season but why would Melbourne even want him?

Yeah it doesn't seem to make a lot of sense and I can't see if anyone is trying to play some sort of game here

Confirmed that transfer talks for @CCMariners Anthony Cacares to join Man City very advanced. Could be done today. Story online shortly

I rate Caceras, just think Man City group are doing their best to weaken the opposition by buying their best players.

Newcastle Jets’ midfield stocks will soon be bolstered with Australian U23 representative Steven Ugarković linking with Scott Miller’s squad to commence his contract with the club.

Ugarković completed a medical with the Jets earlier this week before flying out to the Middle East with the Olyroos to prepare for the upcoming 2016 AFC U23 Championship in Qatar – a tournament in which Aurelio Vidmar’s team must finish in third place or better to ensure that Australia qualifies for the Rio 2016 Olympics.

Ugarković, 21, has signed with the Jets until the completion of the Hyundai A-League 2016/17 season

Maybe I'm imagining it but it does seem that the big city clubs have more talent to burn then ever before. Looking at the league standings the level playing field that the salary cap is supposed to provide doesn't seem so level anymore.

Off-contract Brisbane Roar youngster Devante Clut has been blocked from a move to A-League rivals Newcastle Jets and looks set to leave the club at the end of the season.

Can't believe he's on the outer. Looks like an absolute champ in the making

They signed an average visa player ahead of him, Hervas. He needs game time but wont get it at the Roar, he needs to move for sure.

Well, the league has given more salary cap concessions this season. I personally think the balance is okay at the moment. There is a big difference between having a marquee and not having them. The three teams without marquees are all outside the top 6 at the moment. Conversely, marquees mean that Berisha, Mooy and Broich are all in the league. Certainly, the playing field in the A-league is more level than most football leagues in the world.

City to dump Koren and sign Troisi?

I was thinking that. Or Wanderers could ditch Piovaccari.

According to SST (pinch of salt), the owners realise he is a bust but are reluctant to spend the cash to get rid of him.

Which one, Koren or Piovaccari?

It is being reported in todays Herald Sun that Anthony Caceras will be loaned to Melbourne City from Manchester City. Believed to be that his first game will be Monday week against Wellington Pheonix. Mike Charlesworth was reluctant to swap or release him once he found out Manchester was willing to pay a transfer fee.

Thoughts on this?

As a city fan happy to have him. Very happy. But I can see how this tactic in getting him will cause debate which I guess is the main point of this thread. My gut says this will not be the last time we see this tactic used.

ownership groups should not be able to own more than one club. And this is one of the reasons why. Loopholes.

Allegedly

His wages at City group would fall under the cap so that's not an issue. The only thing that is unfair is that City can purchase players from other A-League clubs but no one else can. The FFA just need to open up the ability to pay for transfers.

Kinda sounds like he will be on an ACL deal because he qualifies as a +1 AFC player with his Indonesian passport.
