Sydney FC might be about to experience a downside to their perfect start to the A-League season after a European club made an approach to sign their coach, Graham Arnold.

The Sky Blues have put the league on notice with eight wins in eight games in all competitions this season, scoring 22 goals without conceding a goal. However Arnold's success has drawn the attention from Dutch club NAC Breda, where he spent three seasons as a player.

City group have a partnership with NAC Breda ... just saying.

Appears they have signed him but the Victory know nothing about it. So either doesn't have a current contract with the Victory or has been tapped up. Has been pulled from tonight's game.

Sydney to swap Janjetovic for Redmayne?

Permalink Permalink

NEWCASTLE Jets have urged fringe players to explore their options as the A-League strugglers move to free up space on the playing roster ahead of the January transfer window.

Mitch Cooper, Radovan Pavicevic and Andy Brennan are off contract and do not feature in the plans of coach Mark Jones.

Sydney to swap Janjetovic for Redmayne?

IT’S looking increasingly unlikely that goalkeeper Vedran Janjetovic will play for Sydney FC again, as the air around his “extended personal leave” turns a bit unpleasant.

Sydney are distinctly unimpressed with how the saga has played out, even though Janjetovic, with the assistance of the players’ union, has been signed off on stress leave after losing his first-team place to Danny Vukovic.

What has also emerged is that players who are sidelined through non-physical reasons aren’t covered by the A-League’s injury insurance policy. So even if a player is deemed unfit to play for months, a club could only sign an injury replacement by spending more on wages.

Far-fetched as it may seem, some cynics in clubland fear that in future, a player who wanted to leave a club could use this to their advantage, especially at a club that wasn’t one of the richer in the league.

Meanwhile there has been some discussion over Janjetovic’s future between Sydney and the Wanderers, though Sydney are adamant they won’t let him leave without a viable No 2 coming — such as Andrew Redmayne at Western Sydney.

Perth Glory are keen on bringing Central Coast Mariners full-back Storm Roux back to Western Australia but the New Zealand international is in no rush to leave Gosford.

Goal Australia understands that Glory are one of two clubs to have expressed an interest in Roux, who is one of 150 A-League players coming off contract at the end of the 2016-17 season.

When contacted by Goal Australia, Roux's agent Tony Rallis declared his client is in discussions with the Mariners about potentially signing a new contract and likes the direction the team is heading under coach Paul Okon.

NEWCASTLE Jets have parted ways with out-of-favour forward Radovan Pavicevic, opening the door for the club to strengthen the playing roster during the A-League transfer window.

Pavicevic, who hasn’t made a senior appearance this season, agreed to a mutual termination of the the final five months of his contract.

Adelaide’s general manager of football Ante Kovacevic confirmed City had written to United requesting permission to speak to four players coming off contract at the end of this season.

But Galekovic, Adelaide’s longest serving player is seemingly at the top of the City shopping list alongside Sergio Cirio, Isaias and Dylan McGowan.

I haven't watched many Glory games but clearly the defense has failed to live up to it's pedigree.

Worth a look for us? Good to have a proper DM in the team.

From all accounts, sounds like he wouldn't get past our 'no-dicks' policy
