How good, 90+4 and 90+10 penalties to win 3-2!

So good for the CCM fans because they've had a shark few years

The A league might not be the flashest of football but it is entertaining.

Was feeling sorry for CCM after that own goal. Thought they were deserving the 1-1 draw...then those last 10mins!!

given victory only have a couple players signed for next season, don’t think Kurz will see another season with Victory. Gives the new coach a blank canvas to work with

Well... that game was worth watching till the end. Good one Salty Dogs

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

Just finished watching a delayed feed now. Total madness! Matt Simon is an absolute A Grade, barking mad psycho but you can never question his commitment.

Great stuff.

We love to hate Simon because on the pitch he can be a real cod, especially to refs. But god it was fantastic to see him belt in the first pen, get into a fight and and then leather another one in and run around like an absolute mad lad. Passion like that for a small club like the mariners who have had a torrid 5 or so years consecutively, really would've given those CCM fans a night to remember. Bloody loved it

Was very nervous when Simon came on against us- he very nearly fashioned something.

Yes. Luckily we had two big streetwise boys at the back who could look after him

Did anyone else notice the Victory fans in the background going nuts? There was a bit of taunting from the CCM fans on the other side of the banner after the game.

Good interview with Matt Simon after the game. Came across as quite likeable and very passionate genuinely about CCM.

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

I'd sign him because he comes on and makes things happen. Not always positive but he gets stuck in and he is a whirlwind.
If you needed someone in the last 20 to come on and be a nuisance, he ticks that box everytime (as much as he is a cod)

Grumpy old bastard alert

It's interesting how Simon does come across as a nice guy, but then you just want to hit him over the head with a hammer every time he steps onto the field.

I remember a few years back he missed out on playing in the GF as he cut his foot really bad to help an old lady get her dog back on the beach.

I guess he's got a real competitive edge - one of those players opposition fans love to hate, a-la Berisha!

Was interesting to see WeeMac, has he been injured or just on the outer?

On the outer. Stajcic got a bit grumpy when the Welly press asked about WeeMac's absence post match.

A shame the nz press conferences haven't been going online this year.
