League Banter - The Matchday thread

Some injury woes early season have left my team under performing but a back to full strength squad rolled the top of the table 3 - 0 last night so hopefully a sign of things to come as we fight our way back up the table.

Was 3-0 up at halftime with the opposition having no shots. Finished 3-2 after conceding 2 goals and then getting a player sent off. A win is a win though

May have made a mistake by selling an experienced keeper and bringing in some fresh younger talent with more skill but less routine. He hasn't started well at all and now I will be struggling to stay up in Championship

I'm having a shocking season, probably because I removed the Michael Jackson Statue from outside my stadium.

Huge result for the Trains tonight at Homebush Road. The first loss of the season for Kingsland Athletic.

Am only 1 point behind them now after a 5-0 win.

I just went down to Homebush Road and saw the groundstaff carefully grid searching the number two ground with metal detectors, kitted out in full bomb dispossal gear. I wandered over and asked what was going on and Stan the head groundsman told me they were trying to clean up the pitch after the war there last night...

this is true, although my 'b' team are good enough to steal points occassionally

4 - 2 win combined with the Whips going down 1 - 2 to Sanchez puts Earthquake City 3 points ahead at the top. Early days yet though.

My latest youth signing in Nepal had a day to forget. Made his B team debut coming on after 80 and went in studs up 7 minutes later to collect his first red for the club. Wasn't even on long enough to get any routine.

Two injuries, my best CB out for 2 games, and my best striker out for 5, that's no fun!

A good 8-0 win to an inactive team. Currently sitting in 3rd place. With a tough away game coming up.

Had a lot if rainy home games so far this season tho

Now have my starting DC, FC and MC all out injured, and my DR suspended! Huzzah. Still got the 1-0 win though.

Dudanec gets his second. Trains 0 - 2 away and I am starting to believe we might actually be a playoffs contender afterall.

2  - 0 win at home, still top of the table.

However, the next match pits us again ADO Balclutha, the only other unbeaten side in the league. Could be interesting. Haven't played the second-placed whips yet either, so that margin could disappear fairly quickly.

Tegal, The Train and TTU all had wins...

Too bad a triple promotion isn't possible. Still, sets up the prospect of a YF rivalry playoff game! 

sitting 8th after 2 annoying losses, will bounce back up to 4th I think.....team has strengthened a bit this year....just keep getting struck with injuries and cards at the same time.

First loss of the season, still top on goal difference. One DC collected a red after 13' and that hampered us the rest of the game. Somewhat annoyed that only one CO worked (my DL moved into the centre to cover, but the second CO subbing a OMC off for the DL sitting on the bench didn't fire) so we played the rest of the game with an asymmetric defence. Still, thems the breaks I guess.

A nice 10-0 win away to keep me in that 3rd place

Today was one of those days that should be an easy win but you have 20 shots only 9 on target and their keeper was on fire.... Got a 1-0 win still so happy with that

A disappointing 1-1 draw drops us to second, with the whips in third on goal difference.

2 - 1 final to the Chickens. *sigh* The gap is closing, but they're still too good.

6 game injury to my only left midfielder *sighs*

dominated today, they had 6 shots on target scoring 4 goals... my keeper got a 2.7 ranking... had a lot of shots but couldnt score enough losing 4-3

Askew deteriorating and retiring in the next couple of seasons will be a massive leveller. 

Actually watched and Enjoyed that game.
