indeed it could. results in for div 3

3-1 to the nix and elite take the win 4-1. Golden boot stays equal as neither of the leaders scored.

Premiership

Reckon I've sewn up the premiership, as TTU would have to beat me by 10 goals next week to take it out (ALL OUT ATTACK!)

Tawa FC are down, but can beat their rivals in the Tawa derby and send them down if Khandallah Lokomotiv manage to beat Peow FC.

Division 2

Waikato Whippingboys take out the title in emphatic fashion, thrashing me 5-1. Sets up a big game next week between myself and Sanchez A.F.C for that last promotion spot. Sanchez just needing a draw to go up, I need a win.

Just as exciting is at the other end of the table. Los Halcones FC has their destiny in their own hands, but its a tough ask as they need to beat league winners Waikato Whippingboys to stay up - it may be advantageous however if Whips decide to play younger players, having already sewn up the league.

Surge Thunder will be looking for a draw against AD Fafe who will be looking to win to stay up themselves.

So still plenty to play for despite the league title being decided before the final week.

Division 3

Highlands FC doing a Glasgow Rangers has shaken things up a bit in division 3. As a result, they have been given the wooden spoon, so Waiouru R.S.C #avoidsthespoon in their first season - something few have managed to do.

Division 3 sees the only league title deciding game of the 3 divisions next week. Wellington Phoenix FC need to beat Elite F.C. to pinch the division 3 title off them, Elite F.C. needing at least a draw to win it.

Racing Club North shore can get promoted by bettering the nix's result.

Fair play is a bit stuffed with the exit of Highlands FC partway through the season. The fairest (and tbh easiest for me) way I can think to do it is just to award 0 points to those with the bye in division 3. It'll only affect 2 teams, and hopefully shouldn't have a bearing on the winner (looking to be the formerly dirty swamp monkeys of Tawa FC). Was worried about AD Fafe sneaking in there since he has the bye next week, but he got himself 3 yellows and a red this week ;p

I'd be surprised to hold onto the lead spot at this stage. Very strong squad I'll be up against there!

That said promotion is secured right? So that's a bonus.

Yep, you're promoted :) forgot to mention that.

So are we likely back to 4 divisions of 5 next season?

23 Oct 01:37

I hope so. We have a couple of new players, sky valley should be back, and Colvin said he would make a new team. Plus with the new A league season having started, am hoping the higher forum activity brings another new player or 2.

Just then depends how many players we lose from this time round I suppose.

not so sure that I'll take the lead - my lads always struggle on key matches, and wouldn't surprise me if I have players out with reds or yellows. I'm shockled to see my boys sitting second on the fairness table.

Wow, that encounter escalated quickly in the second half after being 1-1 at halftime. My defender with two goals!

That's five wins in a row now, I must admit I am not keen on potentially being in Div One next year!

23 Oct 05:45

you'd prefer beating up on the little guys?

Queenslander 3x a year.

24 Oct 01:54

He is a little guy :P

So if we go to 4 divisions of 5. Would it be Top 3 remain in Div 1 + 2 Promoted

Div 2 - Bottom 3 Div 1 + 2 Promoted Div 3

Div 3 - Bottom 4 Div 2, + 3rd Div 3

Div 4 - The rest? :)

Just realised I am probably looking at Div 3 anyway whether I win or not haha. This way, Bottom 2 always relegated, Top 2 always promoted, others just fall down the order :P

24 Oct 02:25

I usually add new teams to the bottom division, promote and demote everyone, then fill in the blanks. Seems to work, there is occasionally a coin toss required at some point.

But the main thing is that promotions and relegations do happen, else what is the point. Depending on how many new teams we get, the bottom of division 3 may not get relegated.

Cool looking forward to it anyway. First I need to "avoid" relegation with everything I have.

Div 3 game is for 1st place both elite will be promoted, win or lose - nix promo hangs on winning or rcns drawing or losing.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Phoenix fans. We have to win them over one fan at a time.

couple of huge results last night, and the tables have been turned with the nix taking first place on goal difference.....

Ed Caputo closes out the golden boot race by virtue of his two in last nights game, Carey needed a hattrick to even the scores.

Cheers.

It seems Patricks Tawa FC have gone inactive and messed with the premiership, which is a shame.

30 Oct 03:29

Weird way to end the season - down 3-0 after 13 minutes, I got it back to 3-3 after just 36 minutes, only to lose 4-3

30 Oct 10:14

Division 2

As a tie breaker I went with the "productivity" stat (basically who got more assists out of the 2)

Allegedly

30 Oct 10:22

I realise the fairplay table is a bit of a shambles now with a couple of teams dropping out, but I don't think it affected the overall winner.

3 yellows and 2 reds sees Racing Club North Shore plummet to last place. Tawa FC dropping out gives Wellington Phoenix FC the fair play title to go with their division 3 title.

WINNERS

Premiership

Winner - tegal (doesn't have to pay self pro days)

Division 2

Winner - Waikato Whippingboys - 15 pro days

Golden Boot - Pete Melddahl (Waikato Whippingboys) with 9 goals - 7 pro days

Division 3

Winner - Wellington Phoenix FC (doesn't have to pay himself pro days!)

Golden Boot - Ed Caputo (Racing Club North Shore) with 12 goals - 7 pro days (paid by theprof)

Fair play - Wellington Phoenix FC - 7 pro days (paid by Ramtallica - though maybe you two can work it out that Ramtallica just pays the division 3 golden boot prize to RCNS instead, to save on the tax...Just a suggestion)

All pro days will be paid after the season update on Monday - this is because it seems a bit pointless wasting them in the 'offseason'. If you do want them before then, let the relevant person know.
