If he pulls a back heel or something doesn't come off we've given away possession in the opposition penalty area, not on halfway. If it comes off it can create a goal.
If he gets the ball and flicks on, nutmegs the defender, lays on Smeltz it may or may not result in a goal and means break down may or may not happen in the 18y - theirs not ours. But is that the best reason to play him up front?
Thats a little like saying lets play McKain up front so he doesn't give away penalties and he may pull a pass or two off and set a few up.
