I think we should have one game at the Basin Reserve each year, in the middle of summer. Imagine the atmosphere.

What's the capacity of the basin reserve?

Nooooooo. The Basin is sh*t for football. Don't forget the playing area is a lot bigger than the RoF. You're miles from the action. If it rains most of the crowd gets soaked. The only atmosphere at the cricket is on the bank and even that's massively over-rated.
Much bigger. I remember back in the day when they played National League games there they had 2 full sized pitches side by side at the basin.

He's pissed because Duncan Oughton (right) isn't going to the world cup and Jeremy Christie (left) is.
He should let it go.

OK thanks. Christie is ex-Perth Glory from memory?

And Ex-Barnsley!!!

They give Stefan the horn, and it isn't Sadelaide United. Or Sold Coast (cos they don't have any fans).

This waiting is not good. I just had to agree to some travel. Tried to delay until the fixtures came out, but couldn't delay any longer. After reading in here that Monday (yesterday) was the day, but with no sign I've had to choose the dates blind... fingers crossed...

We have been tamed haven't we, if we're thinking only giving up home advantage for one game is a good thing. Certainly proves the club lied to us last year with the whole "we had no choice thing" but we knew that already when the public statements changed.

Oh well, time to go through the fixtures and figure out if I have any clashes.

Of course. It's bollocks.

And the result of the match is irrelevant. You seriously think that the only reason people complained about Palmy was because we lost?

We have an extra few games this year anyway so you aren't really losing anything in comparison to last year where you guys lost out on 2 true home games.

So basically, get over it and stop the whining and appreciate the fact that we have a team to support in the first place.

I'm liking out first few games - Gold Coast, who are our bitches, then CCM who should be beatable and Brisbane who aren't looking good for this season.

People complained about Palmy because it is Palmy. We will never be going back there, I'd say. That arrangement was probably made at short notice. I think that the Chch experiment really paid off, however, and drew positive feedback from *most* nix fans (especially those in Chch - of which there seems to be many) and in Aussie.

I just think that it's a complete joke that people are complaining about losing one home game to a city which is starved of football when a few years ago we didn't even have a team to support.valeo2010-05-18 13:57:46

Is bit of a shame the 2nd game isnt until the sunday (extra nights accomodation and day off work). But thatd still be a trip well worth going on! 2 games for the price of one airfare really.
