Scheduling the draw must be a nightmare of a challenge for the FFA - trying to accommodate team preferences, pitch availability, FIFA windows, byes etc etc. From a Nix perspective I'm pretty happy with the draw.

I think we have a good mix of days, only one 4 week gap between games at the RoF and only one game out of Wellington - I don't like any games being out of Wellington but who can begrudge Terry the extra $200k he will make from a fixture in ChCh - the positive is Tony has made it clear that we are a Wellington team so we don't have the "NZ Phoenix" nonsense of last season. I don't even mind the bye first round up - I think the extra week for All Whites to get their feet back on the ground after SA might not be a bad thing.

There is also the potential double header away trip to Melbourne.

Good draw and can't wait to renew season ticket.

He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

Why are midweek crowds always so much lower, is it just because of the family thing? Speaking for myself I like having something to look forward to midweek when I am working 9-5 in the city.

People get into that mentality of 5 days work/2 days leisure, there's no justifiable reason for it! ;-)

Yes it is a family thing.  Chances are you are looking at a 9.30/10p.m. finish at the stadium, never mind getting to bed and that's just too late if there is school the next day.
Our only midweek game last season was also wet and cold so very few curious people at a loose end turned up.  Pity really, the Newcastle performance was a season's best imo.

Try to treat it like a night-out with the family, as a special event? Get the kids on their best behaviour or they don't get to go again etc?

I am sure some psychology could be used on the young'uns that would allow them to be there, and still make it to school the following day.

Yeah and maybe one or two do that, but not everyone. Hence the drop in attendance.

I suppose it was asking too much to expect the cheating little prick to come here and face the music.

Still, his team mates will do.

I had thought that time might heal the Payne, but looking at that photo again....

Lol..

Plus, I think he is only on loan to Manly united to boost their hopes of a good finish. Along with (Craig?) Busch?
And he is only rumored to be heading to Europe. Im not convinced by that.

Dunno, that "hand ball" was a fluke anyway, 9 times out of 10 they don't go in.
On the "other hand" the other one he scored though, was a beauty.Traitor2010-05-24 10:56:06

I know the round 14 fixture is a day early but the Mariners game on the 13th of Nov at the rof is a great chance to drink plenty for qualification anniversary day
