So, when will these be on sale again? Obviously after the fixture list is released but does anyone have any idea when that is?

Hopefully these can be on sale a bit earlier this year so everyone gets them before game 1.

Wishlist for this year:
1) Season passes to be couried out. I dont trust NZ Post at all after last season, put $5 ontop of the price and courier them please. At least give us the option.
2) Similar prices as last year.
3) A winning season

more for the wishlist....

Sponsorship deals with TransMetro, Go Bus and Newlands Transport(any others?) so that you get 1/2 price fares when you produce your membership pass, available on game days.

Likewise, 1/2 price parking in the stadium if you produce season pass.

Reduced fares if booking Qantas flights by quoting pass number.

$1000 cash back if you produce your season pass when purchasing a Hyundai vehicle (as per the Melbourne teams and football Queensland)

Can you not get a 'stadium ticket' anymore? Was less than half price for a return ticket last time I went on the train to a game.

1/2 price stadium parking sounds good.

Maybe also two complementary "Back off Red Badge - don't be pedantic" passes to be used at any time during the season?

Like the idea of half price parking, especially when we're coming in from Wanga's.

Would like to see some sort of special out-of-towner membership too, not sure what the benefits would be though.

Good for you Paulm.
It was mentioned in the alternative stadium thread that the best option, all things considered, was to increase the membership and average crowds at Westpac stadium for the coming season.
Although there are those of us who will be there regardless,
by adding more incentives to the membership pass it may help attract more season members and therefore people to games.
If the season membership pass could have a perceived unique added value over and above entry into games it could be more attractive to the "undecideds" and usually casual football attendees.

For instance, what about a free return Qantas trip for two, drawn 2 weeks prior, for each away game the Nix have for season pass holders only?
..or, the opportunity to win "A House Full of Sony" one winner each home game for season pass holders with the final draw last game of the season? (presuming they are continuing as sponsors)
...or, If adidas come on board, (through their network of sponsored teams)  the opportunity for season pass holders to win tickets to view a game of your choice from a list of adidas sponsored teams of ANY sport playing globally?

Be nice if Terry could jack up some discounted accommodation at Century City for out of town Phoenix season pass holders.
Make it cheaper for season pass holders to stay a couple of nights in Wellington, the weekend a game is on.

For me it comes down to maths. I will unfortunately miss more games than what makes the Season Pass a good deal.

If i got some discount on some accommodation, or cheaper stadium parking, and only got tickets to half the matches, i'd still be happy.

Maybe an out-of-town family pass, which includes free stadium parking for each game, but only gets you into half of the matches. I'd definitely consider something like that.

What about designated kids zones at the game. I know there's family zones, but what about somewhere for the kids to play, or hang over the side without incurring the Red Badge Wrath.

Hi Dave

If Nathan gets a hand from someone to handle the marketing side of membership...the actual membership card becomes the key to lots of cool things like those mentioned above ...and maybe many more too.
Perhaps another level of sponsorship from retailers and businesses that add value to the Phoenix season membership is possible.

$200 ish

This is what Nanjing in the CSL offer: A season pass plus a knock-off replica shirt for 50 RMB (about $12 NZD).

Jiangsu has the same plus a scarf for 90 RMB (maybe $20 NZD).

Shanghai and Beijing are both 350 RMB for just the season pass.

I would like to see the Phoenix offer a much more innovative and fan-friendly membership opportunity.

Let supporters buy a pass for whatever number of home games they choose with a sliding scale of discount and/or benefits attached. For example, you could buy a full season pass and get the maximum per-game discount available plus a full benefits package (whatever that may be). Or you could buy a pass for a lesser number of games, with a lesser per-game discount and benefits.

The point being that from a fan's point of view nobody is excluded. Those who buy the most games in advance still get the greatest benefit, but even those who can only commit to a lesser number of games still get some benefit and to call themselves members. And it's completely flexible, you choose exactly the number of games you want. Also, you would now be able to buy a pass at any point in the season.

From the club's point of view there's the opportunity to lock in a much wider pool of members and - importantly - get the cash up front.

With the current smart-card type technology around this would surely not be too hard to do. You're just loading a card with x number of games and every time you swipe yourself through the gates it takes one off.

That just discourages people buying the full season pass.

even a half season pass would be good, but i agree with terminator, its a good idea.

I dont think the number of full season passes would dramatically drop. Even if it was with one third, two thirds, or full membership options would be a good idea.

Could also become viable gift idea?

So do you think there are currently lots of people buying season passes who don't actually want to go to all the games? That would seem odd.

At the moment people who don't want to buy a full season pass have no option except to buy tickets on a game by game basis. So there's no commitment there at all. These are the people who are more likely to give a game a miss when it's raining or when the team's not playing well.

The idea should be to get whatever kind of commitment possible from people up front (plus the cash!) and then build from there.

I think people at the margin would buy the season pass, without necessarily knowing they are going to be able to go to all the games or not. I know when I was buying season passes I was rarely able to go to all games in a season, due to holiday/work/travel etc.

If there was a plethora of options, as you seem to be suggesting, then I suspect some people would opt for cheaper season-pass lite options and I don't think this would be of any benefit to the club.

I remember Adelaide having some good initiatives last year.
1) 6-pack: 6 game membership.
2) Members could pick one game where they could get (i think) 4 free tickets to drag mates along.

That doesn't sound like a rational reason to buy a season pass. You might do that if you had lots of money.

Other people might choose to buy a season pass with the intention of going to all or near all games, but if there was uncertainty about attending would then choose to buy on a game by game basis.

I think Term's suggestion would attract more punters rather than a move of full season members to part-season members.

Why not a seaon pass that gets you entry into all the home games, or if you want to attend some games you buy tickets to them individually.  That seems like a system that would (and does) work.

I can't recall the figures but it was still worthwhile buying a season pass even if you were going to miss x amount of games (note that it is pretty difficult to forecast nine months out how many games you may have to miss with any degree of accuracy).

It's hardly 'irrational' to buy a season pass in that instance.

What is 'irrational' is making the ticketing system overly complex.

There is already the benchwarmer membership + individual tickets.

I think the 'x' number of games to miss was something like 2. Then you're just paying full price.

What about the ability to buy a home game ticket voucher as a gift. That voucher can then be cashed in for a game day ticket.

To add to that, how about supporting Terry, who as we are all very aware has had some financial issues of late, by purchasing a Season Ticket therefore helping the club to survive for years to come!!!

That's a problem right there. The stadium does not have smart card technology; it merely has bar-code readers. To get the stadium to move to smart cards would, I imagine, require joint initiatives from the Nix and the Hurricanes and the NPC team.

On the other hand, are the stadium already upgrading to accommodate hosting of the Egg-chasing "World" Cup? I wouldn't imagine so, but it's a possible given there are other things happening in this area e.g. Auckland Transport's (somewhat troubled) integrated smart card ticketing project.

Overall though, if you implement a new product you have to be damn sure you won't displace existing product sales negatively. Personally, I'm not convinced allowing people to pick and choose individual games up front is going to work in the club's favour. The important thing is if they were to go down that road, you would expect them to have done some research with both ST holders and non-ST holders first to assess the likely impact.
