No Nix games for the Hutt -  they don't deserve it.

Play one on Maidstone Park in Upper Hutt. They weren't responsible for the Nimbys. Tonights "Leader" had a good letter from P. Persico about Nimbys.

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

The proximity from the railway station/SH1 isn't actually too bad. Unfortunately the selection of pubs and bars around the CBD, and public safety in general, is a complete embarrassment on the city of Porirua.

Ewww. Eastern Suburbs went through us 3-0 at home this week, I'm not keen to go to their manor even for the Nix.

tipical  Nix training game - result is not important. Game finishes 10v10 and 2-1 to nix after scoring all goals.

No just an Edge / Ref refused a replacement(rules) so EM took a player off.

As I heard at a MIRvOLY pre-season games "this is not a friendly. It is a non competition game,  rules still apply"

In my personal opinion I thought west dominated the game but the phoenix had periods were they were better the side. Shocking keeper mistake from the West keeper for there first goal and then a counter for the phoenix second. Surely the only pro team in the country should be beating a Western Suburbs side by a convincing performance shouldn't they?

Cracking crowd out there. Maybe 300-400 people in attendance.

As you'd expect it was pretty early hit out for the team with plenty of subs and ring ins.. Started:

                 italino,

Fenton, Dura, Sigmund, Muscat

        Lia, Boxall Gorrin,

Cunningham, Brockie, Boyd

No Riera or Moss.

Phoenix conceded thanks to a defensive mix up between Fenton and Italino. Looping through ball, Fenton headed it back to Italino, who had come out, ball went past everyone and rolled in the net.

Hicks and Sigmund scored. Siggy's was a chest and volley (I know, right). Hicks was thanks to a cut back from Krishna, and was assisted by the Wests keeper.

After Sigmund's goal, Harry edge got sent off for a verbal spray at the ref (didn't hear it). Ernie offered for west to put a replacement on. Ref refused the offer, so Ernie took off Boyd to make it 10v10.

New boy Gorrin, looked pretty good. Very tidy on the ball, good movement and vision. Doesn't mind a tackle.

Have to agree about Wests playing well but you can't read to much into the Nix's performance. It was basically just a run around and early on it was playground stuff charging around after the ball, etc.
