I won't believe anything until nufc_nz hears it from his source and he puts his balls on it

leadership takes effort and some form of responsibility. Something I will never aspire to because it makes life less fun.

Well it seems there is an offer on the table from a Chinese club, so the information was really only wrong in terms of the figures being bandied around [seemingly] and maybe around a possible early release clause. I certainly don't share the optimism of some on here in thinking he won't go, at the end of the day it will largely come down to whether or not Wellnix think they will get a good price. They say they will also take into account the best interests of the player but the bottom line will be in the $$$ Wellnix can get for him.

wouldn't want him to go for less than $1.5 mil in any case, at least make a decent profit for losing a proficient player.

Hopefully nobody puts in an offer for Ernie, harder to compensate than losing Burns. Ernie himself said that he tried to contact the chinese agent! What about that for some angst?

not sure anyone would be interested in ernie, without the promotion of the acl it'd be hard to get noticed.

That is a piss poor gif, he could be saying anything, but he's not saying the message that's for sure

Easily the worst one I've ever seen.

more fiction or some fact in this one?

I wouldn't believe a word Ante Alilovic utters. Who know's if he really is acting for a club or just being a chancer. As Ernie said in Pineys' clip (taken down from soundcloud), if a club is serious they will put it on letterhead to the Nix Board.

The rest seems like Burns playing a straight bat

Yeah saw it ages ago, if he says it in the film then make a gif of it.

In your gif Buzz seems to be saying "nufc_nz is a cock".

Looks like there will be 5 visa spots available next season.

http://www.news.com.au/sport/football/a-league-chiefs-are-set-to-backflip-and-not-reduce-visa-spots-for-next-season/story-fnk9a3dc-1227195813689

Cunningham is the only "foreigner" whose contract expires at the end of this season - IMHO I don't think there's much doubt he won't be renewed with his visa spot being used to open up the options for recruiting a striker.

He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

Agree. To that end, I think it would be a surprise to most YF readers to see him renewed. Also insurance for Burns leaving and a replacement starting striker. Boyd is then your next man off the bench and you recruit a new youth striker, like the young African (is he African) lad up front for the Weenix

Shanghai Shenhua  moving on from Burns - I sure hope so !!

"Shenhua chiefs have not totally shut the door on Burns, though the club has made it clear to Wellington that its asking price is too rich and that coach Ernie Merrick may have overplayed Phoenix's hand.

Burns is contracted until the end of the 2015-2016 season and is believed to have a buy-out-clause in his contract which would enable him to leave the club for a nominal fee at the end of this season.

Shanghai's hierarchy is perplexed that a player who is not a regular starter for Australia should be valued so highly on the transfer market, with the club unwilling to sanction a bid of more than $1 million."

What an amazing coincidence, all that interest before the China-Aussie game, then once it's played all of a sudden they're not interested anymore...

Nathaniel Hallemariam is class. Remember seeing him for the first time for Hawkes Bay Utd vs Phoenix Reserves in the ASB Challenge a few seasons back. Would love to see him get some first team action before the end of the season.

Don't you think they would have been targetting Cahill before the match if that was the case?

There's still no word/direct quote from the club itself is there?
